It was ironic how everything in my life was about to be turned upside down, yet somehow remain exactly the same. The revelations from the past few days had left me completely horrified. That diary contained information that shook me to my core. And the lingering possibility that Claire wasn't my biological mother – which explained so much – still left me feeling uneasy and anxious.
Everyone seemed concerned about me lately. Damon had been unusually attentive, my girlfriends called daily to check on me, Lana and Owen watched over me like hawks at the office, and even my college friend Leo Philip – PH as I affectionately called him – kept sending worried glances my way.
Amidst this chaos was the divorce of those I'd always believed were my parents. According to my father, Claire was furious about the financial settlement.
