Maya's POV
I moved back slightly to give the woman some privacy while she called her family. Taking a seat in the corner of the doctor's office, I watched as she dialed a number, only to be met with silence. Her second attempt was just as unsuccessful. Tears welled up in her eyes as she tried a third time.
"Hello, darling!" Her face brightened when someone finally answered. "Yes, I know, I shouldn't have come unannounced. But that's not why I'm calling. I got hit by a bicycle... no, don't worry, I'm alright. This wonderful young lady helped me and insisted I come to the hospital because I was experiencing dizziness. Yes, it happened again. The doctor thinks it might be labyrinthitis, but they want to run some tests. They asked me to contact family. No, the others didn't pick up, but my guardian angel is here and promised to stay with me." She flashed me a grateful smile. "Can you come? Of course, I'll wait for your call. I'm at Evans Hospital. Yes, I'll tell her that. Goodbye."
