Stella's POV
"Stella." As I exited the office building, I spotted Alvin, Iris's trusted driver, waiting by the curb.
"Hi, Alvin. How are you today?" I greeted him with genuine warmth. The elderly gentleman had always been kind to me, with his distinguished gray hair and permanent smile.
"Very well, thank you. And yourself, miss?" His eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled.
"I'm good. But what brings you here? I wasn't expecting anyone."
"Mr. West requested I escort you home today." Alvin's expression shifted slightly. "It appears he's under the weather."
"Adrian's sick? What happened?" My stomach knotted with concern. He'd seemed fine this morning, just a bit anxious. Though now that I thought about it, he hadn't texted all day, which was unusual for him.
"I'm afraid I don't have details, miss. Shall we?" He held the car door open with practiced elegance.
"Of course."
