Adrian's POV
I was pacing like a feral beast trapped in a cage. Stella had pushed me beyond my limits tonight. Respecting her decision not to be intimate was one thing, but deliberately arousing me while preventing any relief? That was downright sadistic.
My irritation levels were off the charts, and I felt dangerously close to snapping. Even the smallest inconvenience today could trigger an explosion. Last night had been pure torture, and to make matters worse, Chloe had already delivered one of her infamous lectures this morning. I was staring out the window, stalking back and forth across my office when Ava entered carrying a steaming mug.
"Morning, Adrian! Rough night, wasn't it?" she chirped. I narrowed my eyes at her as she burst into laughter.
"How exactly would you know that?" I dared to ask.
"It's written all over you. Look how jumpy you are!" Ava extended the mug toward me. "But you're lucky I like you. I overheard something that might interest you."
