The weight of my mistakes crashed down on me as I walked away from Stella's house. She needed support, but her stubborn pride would never let her reach out first. I pulled out my phone and dialed Chloe's number, knowing she would mobilize the entire crew without hesitation.
"West, you absolute disaster," Chloe's voice cut through the phone before I could even explain everything. "You're a complete flake, you know that?"
I hadn't heard that particular insult in years, but she delivered it with surgical precision. Every word stung because it was true. My demons had won again. The toxic legacy my father left behind had poisoned another relationship, maybe permanently this time.
"Just get the girls to Stella's place," I managed to say.
"Already texting them," Chloe replied curtly. "But don't think this conversation is over."
The line went dead, leaving me alone with the wreckage of my choices.
