Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Poaching

After the girl let out a scream, Qin Feng finally moved his gaze away from her and quickly waved his hand, saying, "Miss, you've misunderstood. I'm not a thief; Lin Nan invited me here!"

"Lin Nan?"

The girl instinctively crossed her arms over her chest, looked Qin Feng up and down with disbelief, and said, "How is that possible? How could my sister be involved with a beggar like you?"

Qin Feng, speechless, replied, "Miss, you've misunderstood again. I'm not a beggar; I'm just dressed a bit casually!"

"Pervert!"

The girl scolded him with a blush on her pretty face before quickly retreating to the bedroom.

At this time, Lin Nan returned from outside, saw Qin Feng standing dumbfounded in the living room, and quickly shouted, "Have a seat, why are you standing there like that!"

Qin Feng awkwardly said, "There was a girl just now who seemed frightened. Should you check on her?"

Lin Nan poured him a cup of tea, saying, "Don't worry about her. She's bold enough to pluck the moon from the sky; she wouldn't get scared that easily!"

Qin Feng took the tea and smiled, secretly letting out a breath. Thinking about the earlier alluring scene, he felt a little excited.

Just then, the girl emerged from the bedroom in a pink dress, unhappily saying to Lin Nan, "Sis, what's going on with you? He saw everything, and you're still siding with him. I'm your own sister!"

"Serves you right, who told you to not wear anything over your pajamas in broad daylight."

Lin Nan, unconcerned, said as she headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

She looked like a refugee, her dress torn in several places.

The girl pouted and plopped onto the sofa, grabbed an apple, took a bite, and curiously eyed Qin Feng, asking, "Hey, are you my sister's boyfriend?"

Qin Feng shook his head with a smile, saying, "No, we're just ordinary friends!"

The girl nodded to herself, mumbling, "That makes sense. My sister has such a bad temper, who would take a fancy to her!"

Lin Nan finished her shower and came out in a smart outfit, glancing at the girl and instructed, "Lin Xia, I have to go to the police station. Accompany Qin Feng to buy some clothes and get his hair done!"

The girl stretched lazily, smiled slyly, "Alright, but I've already spent my allowance. I can't carry out those tasks!"

Lin Nan glared, "Didn't I give you ten thousand last week? How did you spend it so quickly?"

The girl shrugged, "Oh, sis, it's the modern age. Currency devaluation, rising prices. What can you do with ten thousand? One piece of clothing and it's gone!"

"I can't with you; be more frugal. You know our family's situation."

Lin Nan gave her a look, took out a bank card from her bag, and instructed, "There are only thirty thousand left in here. Use it all for clothes. Get some formal and casual outfits, and also buy a Daoist robe. When you get his haircut, tell the barber to leave it long enough to tie it in a bun!"

"Daoist robe?"

The girl was momentarily stunned, then chuckled, saying, "Sis, I didn't know you have such hobbies, going all out like this!"

"Get lost, what are you thinking all day!"

Lin Nan was speechless, put on her shoes, and quickly left.

The girl chuckled, kissed the bank card, turned back, and extended her hand to Qin Feng, saying, "Hello, let me formally introduce myself. I'm your guide for today, Lin Xia. Feel free to ask anything as long as it's under twenty thousand; I'll try my best to help you!"

"Lin Xia!"

Qin Feng smiled, silently repeating her name, shook her hand, and said, "Hi, I'm Qin Feng. I just came down from the mountain, so I'll leave everything to you!"

"From the mountain, huh?"

Lin Xia bit her lip and chuckled, mentally deducting another ten thousand.

Just like that, twenty thousand yuan from the bank card became hers.

No choice, she's still a first-year university student with no income whatsoever.

Her parents only give her a thousand each month, and with her lifestyle, it's used up in a day.

Luckily, she has a good sister to leech some money off each month from Lin Nan.

She took Qin Feng out of the neighborhood and quickly got a taxi to West District.

There is an old saying in West Capital City, "Eat in East City, dress in West City, live in South City, and work in North City!"

West District is the most prosperous business area in West Capital City, with thousands of stores all selling clothes.

Lin Xia took Qin Feng straight to the boutique stores. No need to haggle here, time-saving and efficient.

Qin Feng, with his six-foot frame, was a walking clothes hanger. No matter the color or style, he pulled it off well.

Lin Xia didn't visit too many stores and there were already a dozen large and small bags in Qin Feng's hands.

There were casual clothes, sports outfits, suits, and even underwear and bras were bought together.

Qin Feng was astounded, never having seen so many clothes since childhood, and followed behind Lin Xia, advising, "Miss Lin, there's no need to buy more. These are enough!"

"Enough?"

Lin Xia looked at the packages in Qin Feng's hands, quickly pulled out her phone, checked the bank card, smacked her forehead, and cried out, "Oh no, I forgot to leave some for myself while buying clothes!"

Feeling girlish, she had played dress-up like a doll, spending freely until only five or six thousand was left.

Qin Feng laughed, "Miss Lin, are you desperate for money?"

Lin Xia blinked wide-eyed, "Of course, everyone's short on money in this world! With money, you can buy what you eat, what you wear, do whatever you want!"

Qin Feng nodded, talking to himself, "I see, your sister asked me down the mountain to possibly sell my Elixirs for money!"

"Elixirs? For money?"

Lin Xia's eyebrows knit in curiosity, "What kind of Elixirs? Like those that grant immortality?"

Qin Feng shook his head smiling, "No, but they can heal and save people!"

"You can refine Elixirs?"

Lin Xia excitedly grabbed Qin Feng's arm.

"Yeah, why?"

Qin Feng curiously raised an eyebrow.

Lin Xia giggled mysteriously, understanding why her sister brought back such a wild card and spent so much money on clothes for him.

In her mind, she saw a flurry of red banknotes, and she pulled Qin Feng into a western restaurant.

She sat with Qin Feng in a quiet corner, carelessly ordered something, and her big eyes stared intently at Qin Feng, "Brother Qin, my sister is cunning. If you do business with her, you'll lose out. Here's the deal, I'll be your agent. Let me handle all the business between you and my sister. We'll split the earnings fifty-fifty, how about that?"

Qin Feng was amused by this girl, noticing she's trying to dig into her sister's business.

He's not actually foolish; he's just new to this society, not understanding everything right away.

He suddenly realized that both sisters are quite sly.

However, Qin Feng could be sure of one thing, their hearts are kind. Their money-grubbing ways are not only not annoying but somewhat endearing.
