Chapter 23 - Accusation

"Why did Nat get mad?"

Seele walked into the clinic and curiously asked Lucian.

She had just seen the two of them saving a girl, and since she could not help with anything, she waited outside.

However, right after that, she saw Natasha carrying Hook's claw, looking like she was about to pick a fight with someone.

She understood it well—when Natasha was angry, someone was bound to suffer.

At Seele's question, Lucian told her about Hook acting as a matchmaker.

"Hmph, with that guy involved, it's no wonder Hook would pull something like that." Seele snorted, then her expression turned serious. "If you need something done, Sampo might be your man, but if you feel like befriending him, do yourself a favor—don't."

"Agree." Lucian nodded.

He knew Sampo was a Masked Fool hiding in Belobog, and he honestly did not want to deal with a Masked Fool like Sampo.

"So… what about you?" Seele asked again.

"About what?"

"I mean... about being Nat's husband..."

Upon hearing this unexpected question, Lucian looked at Seele with a half-smile, then asked back.

"Why do you care about that?"

"I don't care, I'm just curious, okay!" Seele turned her head away, pretending not to care. "If you don't wanna say it, forget it. I don't even wanna know."

As soon as she finished speaking, a Wildfire member suddenly rushed in.

"Not good! A group of vagrants and miners has gathered and blocked Svarog's place. Looks like a fight is about to break out!"

Upon hearing this, Seele immediately frowned.

"What happened?"

At her question, the Wildfire member sighed helplessly, then replied, "I heard that Svarog sent his robots to steal their ore, but I don't really know the details. I came here because the chief told me to notify the leader."

"Nat's not here. Go look somewhere else."

Saying this, Seele grabbed her scythe and rushed out, but quickly turned back and approached Lucian.

"You're the Supreme Guardian, so your words matter. Come with me."

Not waiting for Lucian's answer, Seele grabbed his arm.

"I'm worried I might kill someone if things get out of hand, so help hold me back if it comes to that."

Hearing this, Lucian raised his eyebrows.

He had to admit, Seele's decisive way of doing things was truly admirable.

In any case, he needed to find Svarog as well, so he got up and followed Seele toward Svarog's place—the Robot Settlement.

===

Robot Settlement was an area populated entirely by robots, and it was known that only one human could live here.

Who?

It was none other than Clara.

As for why, it was actually quite simple.

Back then, Clara had accidentally activated Svarog, a dormant robot from the Old World, and when he asked about her wish, she simply answered, "I want a family."

And just like that, from that moment on, Svarog and the other robots became Clara's closest family until today.

After the Silvermane Guards were withdrawn from the Underworld, Svarog respected Clara's wish for everyone to live together as a family. Using the name 'Boss Svarog,' he unified the once-scattered Underworlders and, together with the other robots, protected the Underworld.

At this moment, a large crowd had gathered outside the iron gate of Svarog's base.

Some held pickaxes, while others held shovels.

Besides vagrants and miners, Wildfire members were also present on the side, and more Silvermane Guards were arriving to maintain order.

"Damn robots! They stole our ore!"

"All robots are thieves! They're robbers!"

"Let's break in! Take our stuff back! Even the Supreme Guardian will support us!"

Some people shouted loudly among the vagrants, stirring up the neutral miners.

Beside them, some people with red scarves tied around their arms helped the Silvermane Guards maintain order.

Needless to say, they were none other than members of Wildfire.

Wildfire was originally a peacekeeping organization in Belobog's Underworld, formed to replace the Silvermane Guards after Cocolia ordered a complete lockdown of the Underworld.

Natasha was Wildfire's hidden leader, while Oleg was the one in charge publicly.

"Calm down, everyone! Don't do anything rash! There might be some misunderstanding!"

Oleg led the Wildfire members, trying to calm down the miners and vagrants all around because there were not enough Silvermane Guards to handle the chaos.

It couldn't be helped.

Facing at least a thousand miners and vagrants, the Silvermane Guards numbered barely over a hundred, and even with Wildfire included, their total was only about five hundred.

Not to mention, there were still Svarog's robots.

If things really got out of control, they couldn't hold them back at all.

Meanwhile, inside the iron gate, a little girl in red stood beside a two-meter-tall, one-eyed robot, her face filled with worry.

"Mr. Svarog, why are they saying we stole the ore?" Clara asked quietly. "We didn't do anything wrong..."

She really could not understand.

Her family had always helped these humans, and the reason these humans could yield so much ore was mostly thanks to her family, so why had a huge crowd suddenly gathered at their door, accusing them of stealing their ore?

If they wanted the ore, they could just mine it themselves—no need to steal.

"Clara, human behavior usually has a strong purpose, and there are many reasons why they accuse us of stealing."

Replying to Clara was the robot standing beside her, none other than Svarog.

He was the third series of the Monitoring Automaton Prototype from the Old World, created by Dr. Mearsheimer.

"Perhaps some of them simply want revenge."

Svarog's mechanical voice was steady and deep, giving people a sense of security.

Just as Svarog calculated, there were indeed those who wanted revenge, which was why they incited so many people to come and block the gate, pinning the label of thief on the robots.

At the back of the crowd, five men huddled together, looking sneaky.

"Boss, why aren't we leading the charge? I've been itching to rip those tin cans apart."

"We're just here to stir the pot, not jump in. Let everyone else make the first move. No matter what happens, we keep our heads down, got it? Even if the Supreme Guardian shows up, he'll back the crowd."

"Yeah, as long as the robots start something first, we can just say they attacked people, so it's their fault no matter what."

"Last year, that tin head busted my leg. I'm getting payback."

"Damn, that little girl's pretty cute though. Hope she doesn't get dragged into this."
