Chapter 29 - Disciple

Seele pulled Lucian into a deserted alley nearby.

As fate would have it, it was the very same alley where Lucian had once seen Seele get naked because of his Disarm.

More importantly, how many girls would ever drag a guy into a dark alley on their own?

"So, what do you want to say? Why all the secrecy?"

As Lucian asked, Seele stopped in her tracks, then turned around to meet his gaze.

"Please take me as your disciple. I wanna become as strong as you."

Seele declared without hesitation.

'A disciple?'

Lucian had imagined other scenarios—maybe a love confession, a secret, some gossip, but he never expected Seele would ask him to take her as a disciple of all things.

"Just so you know, not just anyone is qualified to be my disciple."

Lucian's face turned serious as he looked at Seele with unwavering focus.

He used to call Seele his waifu when playing the game before he transmigrated, but now, Seele wanted him as her master?

"I know!"

Seele responded decisively without the slightest hesitation, as if she had practiced this answer thousands of times in her mind.

She puffed out her chest, trying to look more imposing, and then, with a move so quick it was almost a blur, she pulled something out of her bulging pants pocket and thrust it at Lucian.

"Here! My tuition!"

Her voice was still loud, carrying an odd, almost naive boldness.

Lucian looked down at her outstretched hand and saw five coins resting quietly in her palm—their edges worn smooth and reflecting a muted, time-worn metallic sheen under the dim streetlights.

They were none other than Jarilo-VI's world currency, known as 'Shield.'

"If money were enough to make you my disciple, you'd be at the bottom of the list."

Lucian drew out his words, his tone taking on a teasing edge, but his eyes were sharp and unwavering, watching every subtle change in Seele's expression.

Seele's brows instantly furrowed, but that blue flame in her eyes flared even higher, burning brighter.

She clearly hadn't expected that reaction from Lucian, as shown by how her cheeks flushed, as if she were both angry and stubbornly unwilling to back down.

"What does it take to qualify? Set the rules and I'll prove myself!"

Seele nearly shouted, her voice tinged with both the pain of being underestimated and unyielding stubbornness.

It was as if, if she couldn't become a disciple today, she would just become a bandit instead.

Lucian stared into those beautiful eyes of hers, thinking it would be a shame if she ever lost them.

*Whoosh!*

Time seemed to slow down—only the dripping sound from a leaky pipe in the corner stretched out and echoed.

As soon as Seele's final words fell, Lucian moved without warning, without a sound.

At this moment, his index finger became a cold, deadly silver line that tore through the scant space between them, aiming straight for Seele's left eye with razor-sharp intent.

He was faster than human reflexes, his index finger carrying a chilling aura of death as it stopped just in front of Seele's iris—so close she could feel the faint warmth rising from the surface of her vulnerable eyeball.

A tiny move forward, or even a blink from fear, and Lucian's fingertip would have pierced that beautiful eye in an instant.

"…"

Around them, the silence that permeated the surroundings seemed absolute—only the dripping pipe echoed, beating against their taut nerves.

No scream, no dodging, no collapsing—nothing happened.

Seele stood frozen like a statue and didn't even instinctively close her eyes.

Her lovely pupils, startled by the sudden danger, contracted, clearly reflecting Lucian's long, pale finger, and that was all.

Her long lashes, like butterfly wings resting at the edge of a cliff, didn't even tremble.

"Why didn't you dodge?" Lucian asked calmly.

"Didn't have time to react..." Seele replied quietly.

Which normal human could react in a situation like that?

If she could, she would definitely dodge.

"Heh..."

A low chuckle escaped Lucian's throat, breaking the silence.

Seeing Seele stay so calm, he almost thought she was some movie protagonist, completely unfazed by any danger, but that clearly was not the case.

"Fine, since you're my first with six Eidolons, I'll accept you."

Lucian withdrew his finger and gently patted Seele's head.

"Six Eidolons? What does that mean?"

"It's a way to get stronger." Lucian explained patiently. "With six Eidolons, you'll become the Welding Queen of Belobog."

Seele didn't understand, but anything with 'Queen' in the name had to be powerful!

"Alright, you're my master from now on!"

Seele excitedly grabbed Lucian's hand, her eyes full of longing for the so-called 'six Eidolons.'

Lucian smiled and nodded before throwing out a casual tease.

"Hope you can become a rebellious disciple who surpasses your master."

"A rebellious disciple?"

Seele hadn't read many books, so she didn't understand.

"It means a student who becomes even stronger than the master."

Hearing Lucian's explanation, Seele clenched her fist tightly, her eyes determined as if pledging allegiance.

"Don't worry, Master! I'll definitely become a rebellious disciple! I'll surpass you!"

Lucian nodded and smiled in satisfaction, truly looking forward to seeing who would surpass whom.

Seele wanted to share the good news with Natasha, so she took Lucian back to the clinic.

Upon hearing about it, Natasha never expected that Seele would ask to become Lucian's disciple, let alone that he would actually agree.

For the Underworld, this was without a doubt a huge deal.

Seele seemed to get carried away, throwing her arm around Lucian's shoulders, half leaning on him like they were the best of friends.

Seeing this, Natasha couldn't help but be startled.

She couldn't help it.

Lucian was the ruthless demon who had just killed hundreds of people without batting an eye.

Was Seele not afraid of offending him by being so casual?

She was genuinely worried that Seele's careless behavior would make Lucian angry and turn the whole situation upside down, but luckily, he remained gentle and refined, like a true gentleman, completely unbothered by Seele's actions.

Such an outcome made Natasha breathe a sigh of relief.

*Click!*

Just then, a striking figure appeared at the open clinic door.

Silver-gray curls, a delicate face, a tall and beautiful figure.

It was Bronya.

"Lord Lucian, I'm here!"
