Chapter 26 - Aftermath

The dust had settled in Rio.

Reyes was dead.

Word spread quickly. A bullet in the chest—Dom's doing, Brian beside him. The last of Reyes' empire collapsed within hours. Corrupt officials scurried for cover, rival cartels moved in, and the people of the favelas took to the streets in quiet celebration.

But Leonardo? He wasn't celebrating.

Inside a nondescript garage mile outside Rio's city center, the vault lay open—cash counted, bundled, and sealed into travel-ready crates. Koko oversaw the redistribution, ticking off items from a manifest. Tej, Roman, Han, and Gisele took their shares and began making arrangements to disappear across the globe.

Leonardo stood beside the vault, staring at one item he hadn't touched.

The golden summon ticket.

He twirled it between his fingers. The system, now stable after the upgrade, pulsed faintly in the back of his mind. One thought lingered:

Use it when it matters most.

He tucked the ticket into his inner coat pocket. Not yet.

Later that evening, Leonardo walked Gisele to the rooftop overlooking the city. The sky was burning orange—Rio aglow with victory and aftermath.

"You're not staying, are you?" she asked.

Leonardo shook his head. "No. Rio was a warzone. But L.A. is unfinished business."

"You left something behind?"

He hesitated. "Someone. Mia. She's stronger than she looks, but there's only so much she can do alone."

Gisele folded her arms, looking out. "You really care about her. Not in a 'family' way. Real, protective, deep-down stuff."

"She's family. Dom's family too. I've kept my distance to protect them."

"And now?"

Leonardo exhaled. "Now I'm going back."

She was quiet for a moment. Then, "Take me with you."

He turned to her slowly. "Gisele—"

She cut him off with a small smile. "You're not the only one who needs a new chapter."

Leonardo held her gaze. He nodded once.

By midnight, Alfred and Koko took control of Leonardo's companies. DeMarco Motors and the new private arms enterprise continued operating under a veil of secrecy, building influence while Leonardo receded from the public eye.

Dom and Brian had disappeared after Reyes' death. Off-grid, untraceable. A text arrived on Leonardo's burner phone:

"Thanks for the chaos. You were the ghost we needed." – Dom

Leonardo smirked.

As the Gulfstream jet lifted off from Rio, Gisele sat across from him, her legs crossed, a smirk playing on her lips.

"So, what's the plan when we hit L.A.?"

Leonardo leaned back. "We lay low. Reconnect with Mia. Keep the companies quiet. And… we get ready."

"For what?"

He looked out the window. "The next storm. There's always a next storm."
