Westin was also deeply troubled. Mrs. Hill was constantly pressuring him. The Rovellas owed their current power and status largely to the Hills. And now, Mrs. Hill was extremely dissatisfied with them. Thankfully, Mrs. Hill liked Lillie very much; otherwise, the Hills probably wouldn't let the Rovellas off the hook.
"What else can we do? Go back now and see if he left the flash drive at home." Their current hesitation stemmed from the fear she would release the video. But if they destroyed the flash drive, what could Janelle do then? She would be the one begging for mercy.
"I already had people search. It's not at home. She must carry something that important with her."
"Then what now? Ordinary people are no match for her. Even the bodyguards last time couldn't beat him." Trying to take it by force was simply impossible.
"Fine! Let the Hills handle this! If the video really gets leaked, it'll be Nelson's problem anyway." Amber didn't want to deal with this anymore. If push came to shove, they could always abandon the Hills. As long as Lillie got into the Research Institute, what did the Hills matter then? She could just get a different fiancé! Love was fake anyway; power was what truly mattered, wasn't it? Besides, Nelson was like this now; Lillie would be settling if she stayed with him.
"Alright, we won't interfere anymore. As long as this doesn't affect Lillie, nothing else matters."
Janelle had just stepped out of Blue Whale Co., Ltd. when she heard a car horn. She walked towards Sara's red sports car. Sara was wearing a fiery red dress today. Seeing Janelle approach, she whistled. Truly their Janelle, her presence was unmatched.
"Let's go! Dinner tonight."
"Mm. How have you been lately? Weren't you saying your design had issues last time? Did you resolve them?" Sara opened the car door for her, only getting in herself after Janelle was seated.
"Janelle, you're busy enough lately. Don't worry about my stuff. I can handle it, trust me."
"Alright, but if there's anything you can't solve, you have to tell me." Sara was like that, always choosing to shoulder things alone.
"Mm, got it. Oh, how's Godmother doing?" Neither of them was at the border, so they couldn't visit.
"Don't worry! Mom's doing well. She even mentioned you when I video-called her yesterday." Madalyn had been very stable lately.
"Good. Janelle, once you get Blue Whale back, bring Godmother home! We can take care of her together then."
"Okay."
The two went for dinner. Throughout the meal, Sara kept glancing at her phone.
"Do you have something urgent? If you need to go, don't worry about me." She hadn't stopped looking at her phone since they arrived at the restaurant.
Hearing this, Sara put her phone down. "It's nothing, Janelle. Eat more. Your stomach isn't great; you need to eat properly, understand?"
"Mm." She wasn't that busy; it was just that the second-gen rich kids group chat was buzzing about Nelson hitting someone with his car. Most people in the group said Nelson would never admit fault. After all, the Hills were practically a top-tier family in Graham City now. A little exposé couldn't touch them. Others bet Nelson would apologize. After all, Nelson hadn't left the hospital since Janelle returned. It seemed the current Janelle was truly formidable.
After dinner, Erik came to pick them up. He'd had business and couldn't join them for dinner, but he had arranged the restaurant.
Seeing Erik, Janelle shot Sara a look. Sara shrank her neck slightly. "Janelle, relax, I haven't done anything against you. I'm firmly on your side! I just can't stand that scumbag Nelson and wanted to humiliate him a bit." The fact Erik could make Nelson apologize thrilled her. "Alright, I'll head to Nightfall and wait for you. Tonight, practically every rich kid in Graham City will be at Nightfall waiting to see Nelson make a fool of himself! You have to come, okay?" Sara finished, opened the car door, slid inside, and left Janelle with Erik.
"Let's go. To Nightfall." Erik opened the passenger door for her. Janelle didn't say much, getting in directly. Erik closed her door and got into the driver's seat.
"Did you have someone leak the rumors?" Janelle asked.
"Mm." Nelson dared to try and run someone over; he had to pay the price. Two broken ribs were nothing. Weren't they the ones who made Janelle the laughingstock of Graham City before? Now, he would make them the laughingstock in front of everyone.
Nightfall was packed tonight. Over half of Graham City's young elite had shown up.
"Do you think Nelson will actually come? I wouldn't, if it were me."
"Apologizing publicly in front of so many people? That's too humiliating. No matter what, he's from a top-tier family. They can't afford that kind of loss of face."
"Honestly, Nelson must be crazy! He had a good life but just had to provoke Janelle. She's the daughter of a lunatic! You know what that means? She could probably kill someone and get away with it!"
"Exactly! Those with nothing to lose fear nothing. Janelle has nothing now; who's she afraid of? At worst, it's mutual destruction."
"I think Nelson still likes Janelle. If he didn't, why provoke her? Look where it got him!"
Just then, Erik arrived with Janelle. Seeing them, the chatter died down instantly. Are you kidding? The Hills' entire PR team couldn't contain that exposé. That meant Janelle had powerful backing! Otherwise, how could those rumors be impossible to delete?
Since returning to Graham City, Janelle had been constantly busy with various matters. She hadn't had time for nightclubs. Honestly, tonight she felt like having a drink and relaxing a bit.
She sat on a barstool and said to the handsome bartender, "I'll have your signature drink." It had been so long since she'd been to a place like this; she wasn't sure what was good anymore.
Seeing such a stunning beauty, the bartender became very attentive. However, the next moment, a piercing cold gaze swept over him. The bartender's hand trembled, nearly dropping his shaker. He didn't dare look at Janelle again. After mixing her drink, he quickly moved to serve other customers.
The cocktail was vibrantly colorful—definitely a signature drink. Girls coming here probably loved this kind of thing. Janelle picked up the glass to take a sip.
But her hand was grabbed.
"What are you doing?"
