Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: Tea With Shadows

‎"Madam Callista, Miss Guinevere's here." Hearing this, Callista took a light sip of her tea, Redfall had fallen into anarchy, the troops at the borders had dispersed hearing that Roderic had fallen and so had his sons and daughters. It was only a matter of time before it came to fall.

‎The steps behind her were calm, measured before a voice rang through the air. "Callista Vaewlyn, Jarren's cat I presume. I've been wishing to meet you for some time." The tone friendly though the two had never interacted however had heard of each other thanks to Jarren.

‎Guinevere, one above power and Callista with too much of it. It wasn't a shock that the two revered each other. "Guinevere, Jarren's shadow or should I say the Queen of Divinity and Evil. So far I've only seen you commit evil so far." Callista chuckled as she offered Guinevere a seat.

‎The two finally came face to face, Callista's gray beads contrasting with Guinevere's starry obsidian eyes. A clash of light and darkness however the two were already in the abyss, sinking deeper with each passing day. "I heard that you were in cahoots with demons."

‎Guinevere posed as she took a sip of her tea, pleased letting out a sigh. "Well I was thinking where we should stay before this world comes to ruin. Some secret base shrouded in secrecy or somewhere known. What do you think?" Guinevere paused, taking in her words.

‎"That's for Jarren to decide however knowing him he'll agree to your suggestion. What about your father and Reuthar? After all if left unchecked could be annoying pests down the line." The thought of killing his own father had been on her mind, simply wondering when she would do it.

‎"I'll know that when the time comes. As for know, I want to persuade you into an alliance. After all Jarren told me that you adore games of chaos and anarchy." Guinevere chuckled, a devilish smirk flashing on her face. "He didn't lie all the way through, as for the deal, you want me to ally with you, correct?"

‎The wind brushed gently against their hair, the already calm garden further entrancing the two to stay for a bit longer. "I already know the answer for that, it's something else that I want from you. It's about the veils of reality above. Can you teach me as to how to become a reality breaking horror?" Callista had envied Guinevere the more she heard stories from Jarren.

‎The lady seated across from her let out a laugh, slow and deliberate as she took a sip of her tea. "I'd love to teach you however Jarren has yet to fully choose you. I could be wasting my time with you." Callista didn't lash out in rage but rather stole glances at Guinevere. 'She wants to get some form of reaction out of me, looks like we'll get along just fine.'

‎The two exchanged knowing smiles. "Looks like you're not easy to fool as I had thought. Very well I'll teach you, by passing you to someone I know. Crimson. I'm sure you've heard of her." Another horror Jarren had selected in earth, naturally she was aware of her.

‎"Is she in the planes above?" Her question met with a nod. "I know that this is between you and Jarren however I couldn't help but ask, how did you two even come to meet? Sure he told me about your hatred for him but he didn't bother telling me where you came." Guinevere's eyes narrowed out of suspicion.

‎'I didn't think that she would be so brazen with me. Looks like Jarren managed to find someone of actual interest.' She mused inwardly at Callista's bait. "I'm sure that you know but if you don't, then you'll have to ask Jarren about it. There are some memories I'm not fond of." Her words short and curt eliciting a mischievous smile from Callista.

‎"You're already here so I'm sure that you could tell me. Not to mention Jarren is busy with Diana at the moment." Guinevere put down her cup of tea. "I know what you're doing and it's odd for you to be so brazen with me. Not many dare to agitate me so easily without fear of the consequences." Silence filled the air, not awkward but fitting for the two.

‎They felt the world breathe, the flowers swaying, the birds chirping in the distance and the servants moving about. 'It's a shame that this world will come to an end.' Callista mused inwardly though her words weren't laced with remorse but function. 'However if what I do will be the norm growing attachments won't do.'

‎Putting her cup down, Guinevere was the first in breaking the silence. "The other three champions. What do you think of them?" Callista's mind drifted to Brose, though intrigued with his capabilities her interest waned pretty quickly. "As equally worthless as Brose. It's a shame that those gods are bothering with resistance."

‎A sarcastic comment that brought a laugh to Guinevere's lips. "Mindless resistance is something you'll have to grow accustomed to. After all when an animal is backed into a corner, they will no doubt fight back even if it's efforts will be in vain." Recalling Diana at Jarren's hands, Callista smirked maliciously.

‎"Can you take off your clothes?" Guinevere's brows furrowed at the request. "What for?" She asked, her tone filled with skepticism. "I just want to see your contours is all. After all I'd like to see the skills of a woman I'll be sharing a man with." Guinevere bit her lower lips, revolted at Callista's shamelessness.

‎"Don't overstep your boundaries young lady, after all there is a lot more that you have to-" Her words still in her mouth were brought to an end as she saw Callista rise to her feet and close the distance with her. She leaned in, their faces being inches apart. "I'm sure that you don't mind taking a bath with me. After all seeing you stark will be the norm for me."

‎Guinevere tried to pull back however Callista kept on leaning in till their lips finally collided. "Chuu~~" The kiss was short, brisk as if testing the waters. "I'm a horror beyond what you've seen on this plane and yet this is how you treat me?" Guinevere posed, her face flustered as Callista's gaze never left her.

‎"Horror or not, right now I'd like to see what I'm working with so take off your clothes." Her tone commanding further discomforting Guinevere. She wasn't used to the concept of another woman being so free with her. Even Crimson had some restraint with her and she was leagues above Callista in terms of strength.

‎"Don't think that I'll be that-" Her words cut off once more as Callista stole another kiss. This time longer as she let her tongue venture Guinevere's mouth."Chuu~~" Guinevere though reluctant at first started to feel her own body give in to the heat.

‎"Mmm~~" She clutched Callista's face as she kept on reveling in their deep passionate kiss before the two finally broke off from each other. "Hah~" Each moaned, boring into each other's eyes as strings of saliva broke. "Your kisses are somewhat terrible. Have you never kissed in your existence or what?" Callista posed, amused with Guinevere's lack of skill.

‎With how close Guinevere was to Jarren, she has thought that she would be extremely adept in such a field given how energetic Jarren was. "What?! I don't like to bother myself with such pitiful exchanges of romance!" Guinevere protested however her flushed cheeks suggested for more. "If you're this bad with a kiss I can't imagine you down there."

‎Callista teased as she slid her fingers through Guinevere's garments and down her stomach till reaching her womb. However the faint set of steps halted her advances. "Right! She'll be arriving today." She smacked her lips, pulling back from Guinevere's face that was still swoon by the moment before regaining her composure. 'And here I thought that she was toying with me. The shamelessness of this woman!'

‎Her eyes landed on Callista who flashed an innocent look at her, as if she hadn't indulged herself with a kiss with her. "Miss Callista, Miss Guinevere, the guest has arrived." A subordinate mused before ushering the figure behind them. In the bright of day a demon stood before the pair.

‎Her horns radiating a faint gleam of power, her face smooth and alluring as she donned a casual smile. Dressed in a stylish crimson dress, she made her way over to the two ladies. "Lady Callista, Miss Guinevere, I'm glad that you could consider my offer." She started off taking a seat Callista offered. "But of course, in such grave times, grave measures have to be implemented."

‎Callista posed, her tone dripping with stoicism and calmness. "However an individual like you can't be sated with just the fall of Redfall so what is it that you had in mind?" The demon, Delilah, meant to ensnare the pair felt as if she was the one who was prey. "It's great to be an ambitious person Callista however some may mistake it for foolishness."

‎The ladies giggled in unison making Delilah wonder whether she had said something amiss. "Of course, however before we choose to play this game, we have a set of rules of our own I'm sure you can agree with." Never once had the demon been in charge. 'These two seemed to have planned this ahead of time and are merely waiting for me to fall for it.'

‎As much as she grit her teeth, she would only endure as she heard their list of demands. "Firstly, we'd like somewhere we can stay, some place big to stretch our limbs. I'm sure you could arrange something like that. Secondly, we'll go as as far as supporting you into power if need be should you want to rise for power as a queen over Redfall, Reuthar or other kingdoms you'd fancy however you'll have to fill a gap of needs for us."

‎"Nothing too overbearing that you won't be able to handle and lastly, we'll require the latest technological hardware that you have. If need be we could give you a hand." Delilah sighed, cursing inwardly at the circumstance she was met it. 'These two aren't giving me a chance to form my own opinions however their demands aren't that hard to satisfy.'

‎She had hoped to use a divide and conquer tactic with the two however their strong relationship seemed futile to shatter at the moment. "Your demands are within my reach however I'd have to disagree with the second one. Your terms are way too vague." She knew that the two could shift the game making her a puppet in a kingdom she was meant to rule.

‎"You're afraid of losing power that you would gain but worry not, we're not interested in trivial political trifles. You'll have all the power you want, our requests will be tame, like..." Callista didn't bother finishing her words making Delilah furrow her brows. 'It's just as I had expected, these two wanted to use me.'

‎The air grew tense between the three and the saint finally bothered speaking. "Please ignore my friend over here, she's inept in the field of conversation. What she meant with the last point was that we won't ask for any political leverage or advantage from you. No power to rule, no active interference or anything of the sort."

‎Guinevere's words much calmer however aggravating Callista. 'Inept?! Once she's gone I'll show you inept l!' She vowed in her mind casting a playful smirk at Guinevere. 'These two still don't see it. So far they keep on telling me that they'll promise but what good is a promise in the face of power?' Delilah was skeptical that the two would go back on their word the moment she came to thrive in power.

‎After all she had no means of stopping the two if they chose to overthrow her. "Delilah, we can tell your frustration and understand your hesitation into this deal however, a cornered animal like you doesn't have a lot of options at hand. If you won't take this deal then someone else will." Guinevere spoke with finality as her obsidian eyes landed on Delilah's fidgeting frame.

‎'For a demon, she's definitely one to play with masks so efficiently.' She concluded in her mind, ready for Delilah's response.
