After he arrived at the small restaurant he wondered on how he could obtain an evidence of her visiting there.
"Hmm... This is getting difficult, how can i obtain the proofs she went here without breaking in and stealing it? "
The priest snapped out of his thought after seeing a flicker of light in the restaurant windows.
"The owner might be living here"
He then walked to the door and began knocking on it. A minute went by and still no response so he decided to leave but then the door opened and there it was, the owner of the restaurant laying on the ground with a scarred hand. The priest immediately rushed inside and saw that the restaurant was in a mess. Flipped chairs and broken desks, but more importantly, an empty drawer under the counter, likely what was targeted by the intruder. The priest immediately checks if the restaurant owner is still breathing and after finding out that she's still alive he began carrying her unconscious body and ran as fast as he could from one infirmary to another, due to it being in the middle of the night most infirmary was closed and only one was open, a shabby looking infirmary. He decided to not be picky and entered the infirmary to get the owner treated as fast as possible. As soon as he opened the door he was greeted with the pysician, mirroring his infirmary condition with his looks, a pair of glasses with a small crack, a worn out robe, along with a long messy brown hair that looks like it hasnt been washed and brushed for days. The priest sighed looking at the physician as he looked way too shabby to be trusted but the physician was smiling with confidence.
"You want me to treat her? No problem! You're facing the best physician in the capital! "
The priest chose to not believe him but still handed the shopkeeper to the physician as he's the only option left. After that he decided to go back to the restaurant to make sure the evidence picture is still fine. The priest arrived and sure enough, most equipment has been stolen but the picture is still fine indicating that the intruder wasnt associated with anyone and is only robbing to gain money and not getting rid of evidences. As he stored the picture into his pocket he goes back to the infirmary where the shopkeeper is being treated and as he opened the door he saw that the shopkeeper was awake. He approached the shopkeeper introducing himself as a priest who stumbled upon her restaurant and stopped as he sees the broken window indicating that an intruder has tresspased into the restaurant. The shopkeeper cried and thanked him for saving her life and asked what is stolen by the intruders.
"Aside from a few equipments and most of the money under the counter there werent anything that is taken by him other than that"
The shopkeeper took a sigh of relief after hearing the news as she finally can be at ease.
"Although it is a shame, i cannot stay here for long as i have other matters to take care of, before i left i pray that you can be fully healed as soon as possible"
The priest then immediately left after saying that and while sitting under the bench beside the infirmary he took out a picture, it was an exact copy of the original photo, as taking it without the owner permission or knowledge is illegal but it isn't illegal to use an exact copy of it. After that he arrived at a small antique shop, it said that the youngest princess liked to visit it due to her interest in antique items, due to that there were many evidences of her being there, but none of them is needed as the only thing the priest needed was the latest picture to prove that she's there. He knocked on the door and the antique shop owner turned on the lights and got off from his bed and said
"Boy, can't you see that we're not open? ".
The priest didn't stop knocking and instead replied with
"I didn't come here to buy some antique items, i'm here for the most recent picture of the princess visit here".
The shop owner was puzzled at the priest request and backed away a bit with a look of wary.
" are you trying to destroy the proof that she visited my store a day before her murder?"
The priest laughed a bit at his wariness and as he stopped laughing he sighed before explaining himself.
"Look, i may look suspicious from my request, but destroying the picture isn't the purpose of my visit, i'm here to prove the princess Innocence at the trial by getting a picture of every place she visited before the incident, but if you don't want to believe me then you could give me an exact copy of the picture then"
The owner suspicion of the priest intention got less and he heads back into his house to make an exact copy of the picture just like the priest had requested. After it was done the shopkeeper slid the picture under his door and the priest took it and made sure it was real and then threw a coin from the crack of the door to remind him that there's a crack in his door and as a payment before walking back and heading to the last location. He arrived at the place, a pottery shop owned by a commoner with average skill in pottery
"How peculiar and interesting you are princess, to be visiting a pottery shop owned by a commoner instead of requesting it from an elite, so that's why the people's love you so much"
After that he knocked on the door and introduced himself as a priest. Luckily, the potter was still awake and was making a new clay pot, he quickly washed his hands and wiped it before approaching the door and opening it to greet the priest.
"Hello there young lad, you're trying to place an order?"
The priest denied it and introduced himself as a priest who's trying to prove the princess innocence.
"So you're here for an evidence that she visited here right?"
The potter said as he quickly figured out the priest intention.
"Yeah that's pretty much it.. "
The potter then handed him a picture and the order for a pot that the princess made without questioning the priest.
"Young lad, you need to make sure that she's going to walk out as innocent"
The priest promised to the potter and walked away as the last picture is secured leaving only one more evidence, the poison.
"Looks like there's only 3 hours left"
The priest sighed as even though it wasnt apparent, he was pretty tired from walking to the capital and spending the night walking around trying to gather evidences. The priest stretched a bit before readying himself for the last evidence needed.
