Chapter 7 - Craig’s ideas

"Hmmm….."

"So my only task is to build a nation befitting of the Demon Lord's glory right?" Craig asked.

[Yes. That's correct]

The system answered.

Craig careesed his chin, stroking it gently.

"Well that wouldn't be an issue, as you can see I came from a world filled with abundant knowledge regarding construction"

"Since this world goes back to the medieval era, they don't have the ideas when it comes to designing and constructing buildings"

"Should I build a skyscraper as my palace?"

Craig giggled softly.

He rode his horse back into the village, his eyes gleamed.

Facing the hardworking citizens of the Village.

Fallen buildings were being rebuilt, while other buildings which weren't completely demolished were repaired.

Craig had someone to supervise the construction activities.

His appointed Secretary of labor.

Craig returned back into his villa, Craig spent seven days indoors. Meticulously crafting up the new construction plan.

A vital construction project that would restructure the Village in it's entirety.

Making use of his knowledge and memories from the twenty first century.

And once the seven days of planning elapsed.

He called together all his chosen Secretaries into his home. They were all gathered into the meeting room.

Zephyr was gifted the home of the dead Village Chief who was killed during the invasion.

Taking control over the Village.

They all answer to him now.

They were all gathered inside the small meeting room, they were sitted before the sturdy, round wooden table.

It's surface worn smooth by years of use. The Table's dark wood was adorned with intricate carvings.

Telling stories of myths and legends.

The room dimly lit, with candles and torches casting flickering shadows on the wall. The air was thick with the scent of wood smoke.

Roasting meats, and freshly baked bread.

They feasted on the meal presented before them.

Benches and stools surrounded the table, where nobles and commoners alike gathered to share meals and discuss the day's events.

The atmosphere was lively with laughter and conversation filling the air.

His footsteps drew closer.

Their attentions drifted towards the direction of Craig as he made his appearance known. His shadow evidently seen on the wall.

Craig exhaled a sigh.

His face beamed with smiles.

"Greetings Chief Zephyr"

They greeted in unison, their eyes gleamed. Happy to sit before the presence of the new Village Chief.

"Greetings to you guys as well, it seems you guys are enjoying your meal"

Craig spoke out.

A secretary giggled.

"Ah. Yes, Chief Zephyr…..your servants cooked this meats well, we had to eat as we awaited your presence"

Secretary Arnold spoke out.

He's the Secretary of Defense and a former Knight who abadoned his duties to protect his village.

His name is Arnold Tamphon, the son of the late Village Chief.

But despite being the son of the dead chief, he held no animosity towards the new Village Chief who took his position.

Craig heaved in relief.

He took his seat, sitted before the sitted Secretaries. Their gaze were fixed on him.

Craig who brought in a couple files piled up together placed them all on the table, drawing the curiosity of the secretaries.

In other to maintain balance.

Craig created six secretaries, the secretary of defense, the secretary of information, secretary of commerce.

The secretary of construction, the secretary of agriculture and the secretary of transportation.

Each were given their own designated power in the Village while they're in the process of rebuilding back their land.

Secretary Kole's eyebrows furrowed.

He gazed at the files placed before the Village Chief.

He cleared his throat.

"Chief Zephyr, sorry if I may ask. But what are this books?" Secretary Kole asked.

Craig grinned.

"I spent seven days indoors crafting out ways and how to develop the Village of Esmerald back and I was able to create some unique ideas"

Craig spoke out.

He handed over the documents he held to the first secretary sitted beside him and that's the secretary of transportation.

The Secretary of transportation went through the files, his eyes widened in awe.

Once he was done, he passed the files to the Secretary who sat beside him and thus did the files circulated.

Until he returned back to the hands of Craig.

They had the look of bewilderment written in their eyes, shocked beyond doubts.

"Chief Zephyr, those arts….what are they?" Secretary of construction asked. Still stunned.

Craig giggled.

"That's what I call a skyscraper, in this files, as an architect. What I designed is what we will be building"

Craig explained.

"We will be building those things? This is the first time I will be seeing such mystical arts, I even saw a dome shaped building created with only glasses"

Secretary of Construction exclaimed.

Craig chuckled.

His face beamed with smiles.

"That's called a glass house and it's built using glasses and special materials as well, we will need to find those materials"

Craig said.

He relaxed his back on the arm wooden chair he sat on. Drowned in his own world of thoughts.

He recalled something.

"I totally forgot this isn't the earth I stayed in, I didn't just go back in time. This may have been shaped differently"

"This is the medieval era but it's a game-like world. Completely different"

"Supernatural abilities like Sequence Authorities and Utopian Authorities exist in here"

"Only a few amongst those soldiers i slaughtered back then were awakened humans and the humans in this world who are awakened are called players"

Craig thought.

"But I think I'm not the only human from the twenty first century to be reincarnated in this world"

"I was only lucky to be reincarnated into the body of a fallen Demon Lord"

"The rest are still out there, if I'm going to build a standard nation"

"I need to focus on defense as well"

Craig thought.

Secretary Arnold cleared his throat.

"Chief Zephyr?"

He called out.

Craig's attention returned back to the sitted Secretaries. They were all confused and worried.

Craig's face beamed with smiles.

"Sorry I was too far gone in the world of thoughts but I had a few things ongoing in my mind" Craig spoke out.

"A few things like what? Chief Zephyr. You know you can confide in us right?"

Secretary Pedri asked.

"Sure. I know that already, well rebuilding this land is one thing but protecting it is another thing entirely"

"We have the Neztra Kingdom to the West axis of the Village, the North axis is occupied by the other village tribes"

"The East and the Southern Axis are connected to lands inhabitable to humans, the Great Forest of Nahumbai"

"And the Valley of Esorok"

"Those two areas are filled with man eating demonic servants, and spirit beasts as well"

"It's dangerous for humans to dread in"

"But the Great Forest of Nahumbai holds resources capable of enriching our land bountifully right?"

Craig asked.

A map was placed on the table, it's a detailed map of the Village of Esmerald and it's connections to the rest of the world.

Secretary Arnold careesed his jaws.

"Well the Great Forest of Nahumbai is the hunting ground of many nations, it's stands at the outskirt of the East"

"But it's entirety is filled with blessings" Secretary Arnold explained.

Craig's brows curled up.

"Blessing?" He asked.

"Yes. Blessings, basically in the Great Forest of Nahumbai. Only in the Great Forest of Nahumbai can treasure like the Starlight stones be found"

Secretary Arnold answered.

"Starlight stones?" Craig asked.

"Basically they are sources which Starlight Energy can be generated from them to enrich other aspects and designs"

Secretary Arnold explained.

"They are classified into different unique grades while the Valley of Esorok, the main hunting ground" Secretary Arnold said.

"It's in the Valley of Sorok that artificial gates known as dungeons are locked in, filled with treasures and artifacts"

"It's the main target of other Nations" Secretary Arnold added.

"But I'm curious, if the Valley of Sorok had such treasures. Why didn't this Village try to get their hands on them?"

Craig asked.

There was reticence amongst the sitted Secretaries as they glanced at themselves.

They all bent their heads down in shame.

Secretary Pedri coughed.

Clearing the uprising tension.

"Ehm…Chief Zephyr"

"Sorry but we are just an ordinary small village who's constantly being oppressed by the Nations of the West"

"And we lack the strength, entering the Great Forest of Nahumbai and the Valley of Sorok means preparing yourself for war"

"We're being intimidated by the Nations of the West and our ways are being restricted as well"

"And to top it more, we are the weakest amongst the village tribes"

Pedri added. He hid his tears.

"Hmmm…."

"Well that's understandable, the strong will always stand to oppress the weak"

"That's the law of the game"

Craig uttered.

His eyebrows furrowed, his lips curved up.

Revealing his eyes which burned with curiosity.

"I'm curious about this Great Forest of Nahumbai and the Valley of Esorok, Secretary Arnold. Round up the able bodied men of this village"

"And call them before the Chief's Quarters"

Craig commanded.

He got up from his seat, Arnold's brows curled up.

"Yes boss but what's the occasion?" He asked.

"I'll be prepping them for our trip to the Great Forest of Nuhumbai and the Valley of Esorok!"
