As the Spider Serum entered Peter's body, he immediately noticed subtle but unmistakable changes. His DNA began mutating at a visible rate, with the newly introduced spider genes fusing seamlessly with the existing lizard genes—a fusion process previously unheard of. Even Peter himself couldn't predict the outcome of such a merger. However, judging from his current state, he had not turned into a monster, neither man nor beast. That, in itself, was a great relief.
For now, the fusion and mutation seemed to be progressing in a positive direction. This allowed Peter to breathe a sigh of relief. As more time passed, the Spider Serum fully integrated into his system. His entire DNA structure underwent complete transformation. Fortunately, the worst-case scenario—that of turning into a grotesque creature—never materialized.
Instead, something extraordinary happened: the spider and lizard genes fused in an exceptionally delicate and balanced way, resulting in a completely new and unique biological gene. Under the influence of this hybrid gene, Peter's body continued evolving. His original lizard powers not only remained intact but had become significantly stronger.
First and foremost, his vision had reached a terrifying new level. He could now clearly see objects and read text as small as a fingernail from up to 1,000 meters away—comparable to a high-end telescope. Next, the toughness of his skin improved dramatically. Before the fusion, Peter could already block handgun bullets with relative ease. Now, however, his skin could likely endure the force of a grenade explosion. If he were to face the Green Goblin again, the villain's infamous pumpkin bombs would probably be ineffective. Of course, this was just Peter's assessment. Real combat would be the true test.
Simultaneously, the number of self-healing factors in his body increased exponentially. While his regenerative ability was still not on par with Wolverine's, it was rapidly approaching that level. Minor injuries could now heal within ten seconds. Severe wounds involving bones and tendons could be fully repaired within an hour. This self-healing ability gave him newfound confidence in facing future adversaries head-on.
Moreover, his physical strength had also doubled. Previously, he could exert a maximum force of 30 tons. That limit had now surged to 60 tons. With such raw power, he was not only stronger than any version of Spider-Man but could potentially challenge the Hulk under normal conditions. The transformation had made him a formidable presence.
In addition to his enhanced lizard abilities, Peter had now awakened his Spider powers. However, due to the hybrid nature of his genetic mutation, these abilities were distinct from those of other Spider-Men.
Take his Spider Silk projection, for instance. Like the original Spider-Man, Peter didn't require external web-shooters. He could naturally synthesize webbing within his body. But unlike the original Spider-Man, who only had two web-shooting ports on his wrists, Peter possessed twelve: two on his wrists and ten more on the tips of his fingers.
Even more remarkably, these silk-emitting ports were retractable. When not in use, they remained completely hidden beneath the skin. This gave him extraordinary flexibility in web projection. He could shoot webs not only from his wrists but from all ten fingers, giving him a significant edge. Because of the increased number of emission points, his speed in producing webbing was far superior to any other Spider-Man. The size and density of his webs were unmatched.
Another unique feature of his Spider Silk was his ability to consciously control its thickness and tensile strength. This allowed him to tailor the webbing for specific combat scenarios. When thickened, it was as sturdy as steel rods, ideal for lifting heavy objects or aiding in rescue operations. When thinned to the diameter of a strand of hair, it retained its strength but gained a razor-sharp cutting edge capable of slicing through steel—perfect for offensive use.
The fusion between lizard and spider genes also affected his claws. Previously a signature of his lizard powers, these claws had now evolved. They had integrated with the infinite Spider Silk generation capability and could now extend and regenerate endlessly. Leveraging the kinetic force generated through silk projection, Peter could even launch his claws like bullets, causing damage comparable to a handgun. Alternatively, he could entwine them with spider silk to create enhanced, penetrating web-based projectiles—similar to a rope dart but far more lethal.
This unique ranged attack capability was unheard of among other Spider-Men, further setting Peter apart. These adaptations would greatly amplify his combat potential in future battles.
His Spider-Sense had also undergone dramatic enhancement. Most Spider-Men relied solely on instinctive danger detection. But Peter, possessing inherent telepathic ability, had taken it to the next level. He could mentally control reptiles within a 2-kilometer radius to act as scouts and transmit environmental data. This effectively expanded the range of his Spider-Sense to the same distance—2 kilometers.
This meant that within that vast radius, any potential threat or danger could be detected long before it posed a serious risk, allowing Peter ample time to respond. Had he possessed this ability earlier, the Green Goblin would likely be dead by now.
Clenching his fists, Peter could feel the immense energy coursing through his body. He couldn't resist the urge to laugh in exhilaration. His strength had skyrocketed. At this point, unless he faced a truly overpowered cosmic entity, he could confidently stand his ground anywhere in New York.
And it wasn't just his powers that had evolved—his status had changed as well. After defeating Kingpin, Peter had taken over the criminal empire he left behind. He was now the shadowy figure behind Kingpin's gang. The days of Peter Parker needing to act with caution and restraint were long gone. The new Peter could finally afford to stir up a little trouble.
Thinking about the opportunities ahead, he shifted his focus inward, diving deep into his consciousness. There, he noticed something remarkable: the energy progress bar on the turntable had increased to 35%.
Apparently, the conflict with Kingpin and his eventual defeat had caused Peter's Golden Finger to absorb a substantial amount of mysterious energy. He remembered that the last time he checked, it had been at just 12%. A jump of 23% in such a short period was truly impressive.
Once the bar hit 100%, Peter knew it would unlock access to another dimensional world. Which world that would be remained a mystery. But he hoped it would be one that provided even greater opportunity.
A world like The Boys came to mind. If he could replicate the Compound V formula, he might be able to build his own "Super Seven" team. Naturally, he would take the role of Captain—Homelander himself.
That idea thrilled him. In the perilous Marvel Universe, transforming into someone as powerful and feared as Homelander would be nothing short of game-changing. He couldn't help but grin at the thought. His future was brimming with possibilities.
Just as Peter was reveling in his new powers and grand aspirations, events elsewhere were already stirring.
In a luxurious villa, a furious roar echoed through the halls.
"You bastard! I'll find you. I'll tear you to pieces. And I'll kill your family too! They'll all die by my pumpkin bomb!"
Norman Osborn, now out of his Green Goblin armor, was tending to a heavily fractured arm, his expression twisted with hatred. His injury was severe—a comminuted fracture—but despite the damage, he refused to go to a hospital. His body had been enhanced through the human body augmentation serum, granting him a degree of regenerative ability. Though not as impressive as Peter's, it was enough to allow him to heal in a few days.
As he finished bandaging the arm, a sinister smile slowly spread across Norman's face. He seemed to have thought of something.
"Kid, I know how to find you."
