The reason she could guess the mysterious masked figure was Peter was, firstly, because she knew Peter very well—she was intimately familiar with his habits, gestures, and subtle mannerisms.
Secondly, it was due to her unique Spider-Sense and heightened sensory perception; she could distinctly smell Peter's scent on the masked person.
That's why she now believed the mysterious masked figure was indeed Peter—but naturally, she wouldn't let him know she had figured it out.
Since he was deliberately concealing his identity, he must have a reason. Gwen trusted that Peter would never hurt her, so she didn't feel the need to investigate further.
Some truths were best left unspoken—just knowing them was enough.
With that thought, her gaze shifted to the Spider Silk Launcher and Spider Suit Peter had given her.
Though she still didn't understand how Peter had managed to develop such advanced tech, she trusted him unconditionally.
As previously stated, she believed Peter would never harm her. So, after a bit of consideration, she found a secluded rooftop and put on the suit.
"It fits perfectly! Looks like this bad guy knows my body too well," she teased, admiring herself in the mirror-like reflection of a nearby glass panel.
This further confirmed her guess that the masked man was Peter—only someone familiar with her physique could tailor a suit that fit her so flawlessly.
Once suited up, Gwen strapped the two Spider Silk Launchers to her wrists. They looked like sleek, compact watches—lightweight and convenient.
At first, she was skeptical that they could actually fire spider silk strong enough to support her swinging from buildings.
But when she raised her wrist and gently tapped the launcher, a light-white, hundred-meter-long thread of Spider Silk shot out with precision. Her doubts vanished instantly.
Like a kid with a new toy, Gwen started exploring the gadget's functions atop the rooftop. Within minutes, she had figured out all its features.
Confident now, she stepped to the edge of the building and fired a strand of Spider Silk toward a tall structure dozens of meters away.
The silk latched onto the opposite wall securely. Gwen tugged it to test the strength, and once assured, she prepared for her first-ever swing.
Every Spider-Man in history has had to take their Leap of Faith—the moment they overcome fear and embrace their identity.
Whether it was the original Spider-Man, the Amazing Spider-Man, the third-generation Spider-Man, or even Miles Morales, the black Spider-Man—all had taken this vital first leap.
This seemingly simple act was actually a test of courage and resolve. If one couldn't make that leap, they could never truly become Spider-Man.
Now, it was Gwen's turn to face that critical moment in her journey.
"Oh my god! This is way too high! Nope, no way—I can't do it!"
Overwhelmed by the height of nearly 100 meters, Gwen backed away and took the elevator downstairs. Her first attempt at swinging had ended in retreat.
But she wasn't giving up.
She found a shorter building—around 30 meters tall—and climbed to its rooftop.
This time, the distance felt more manageable. Standing on the edge, Gwen took a deep breath and whispered, "God, help me. I can do this."
With that, she gripped the Spider Silk tightly, braced herself, and leaped into the air.
The moment she swung from the rooftop, the wind roared past her face, and she let out an exhilarated scream.
Once airborne, all her nerves dissolved into pure adrenaline.
But just as quickly, exhilaration gave way to panic—because she suddenly realized she hadn't figured out how to brake.
"Crap, crap, crap—ahhh!"
With a terrified scream, she slammed into the wall of the opposite building, then slid down and landed hard on an outdoor air-conditioning unit.
Thankfully, it wasn't a dangerous fall, and her enhanced physique absorbed most of the impact. She was in pain, but not injured.
"I can't believe this skinny silk can actually support my weight and let me swing across buildings. That was seriously awesome!"
With that first experience under her belt, Gwen's confidence skyrocketed.
She shot another strand of silk toward a distant wall and launched herself again.
This time, the improvement was dramatic. She was already alternating her arms to shoot silk, maintaining smooth and continuous motion.
Fifteen minutes later, Gwen was swinging with practiced grace. Her rapid progress was astonishing.
Simple swinging moves no longer satisfied her. She began testing more daring maneuvers, clearly taking on the true form of a Spider-Man.
Unbeknownst to her, while she was busy with her rooftop training, three figures watched her in secret.
They were none other than Peter, Felicia, and 2B Miss.
"As expected from Boss's sweetheart—her learning ability is off the charts! She picked up swinging in just minutes. I thought it'd take her a few days," Felicia said, a mix of awe and envy in her voice.
Then she turned to Peter and pouted. "Boss, I want a Spider Silk Launcher too! I wanna swing through skyscrapers like that—it looks amazing!"
Peter smiled and gently pinched her chin. "My lovely cat, will you listen to me?"
"Of course. My life belongs to you, Boss—I'll always listen."
"Then do as I say: no launcher for you."
"..."
"Boss, that's so unfair!"
"It's not bias. Gwen has spider abilities, so it makes sense for her to have a silk launcher.
You, on the other hand, are the Black Cat. Would it really suit you to be shooting webs? What would that make you—a Black Silk Cat?" Peter teased.
"Ugh! Don't make up stupid names. Why not call me Flying Cat instead?" Felicia huffed, rolling her eyes.
"If you want to be Flying Cat, that's easy. When we get back, I'll make you a custom Black Cat Suit—with an anti-gravity flight module and grappling claws.
That way, you can swing when you feel like it, or fly if you prefer. Doesn't that sound more fitting for you than a web launcher?" Peter looked at her with fondness.
"Really? Boss, you're the best!" Felicia beamed and kissed him on the cheek. Her eyes sparkled with happiness.
"Boss, 2B Miss wants a suit too," 2B chimed in, mimicking Felicia's tone.
Peter chuckled and caressed her cheek. "Your body's already the best suit. But yes, you do need an upgrade."
"All right, it's getting late. Time to head back," Peter said, turning to leave with the two women.
Just then, a sudden breaking news report flooded the internet."Breaking: Tony Stark, Chairman of Stark Industries, has reportedly been captured by terrorists in the Middle East. His current whereabouts and condition remain unknown."
