Chloe Pierce's POV
"I... I don't actually have the formula with me," I stammer, feeling twenty pairs of eyes burning into my soul.
Dr. Morrison's face on the screen shows obvious disappointment. "That's unfortunate. When might you be able to retrieve it?"
Janet's voice cuts through the air like a whip. "Pierce, where exactly is this formula?"
My mouth goes dry. How do I explain that Su Na stole it and is probably showing it to competitors right now?
"It's... complicated."
"Uncomplicate it. Now."
Susan stands up with that predatory smile I've learned to hate. "Janet, perhaps I can help clarify the situation."
"Please do."
"Earlier today, I witnessed another employee examining Pierce's formula. Su Na from the Research Department was quite interested in it."
My stomach plummets to the floor. Susan saw everything.
"Su Na has the formula?" Janet's voice drops to a dangerous whisper.
"She was studying it very carefully when I last saw her."
