The silence in the Slither Ring was shattered by the roar of the processor fans from Juno's main computer, which had just been powered on. Jax wasted no time. He shed his black jacket, draped it over the back of a chair, and rolled his shirt sleeves up to his elbows. His fingers, which usually danced over legal documents, now moved with improbable speed across the keyboard.
"Since when do lawyers have a hobby for hacking?" Sebastian asked, leaning his hip against the desk as he watched rows of code begin to race across the large monitor.
"Since the law stopped providing justice fast enough," Jax replied without looking up. His sharp eyes, behind his glasses, reflected the blue light of the screen. "Besides, dismantling a security system isn't much different from finding loopholes in a contract. It just requires a slightly more... aggressive logic."
