Chapter 65 - Chapter 65 Demonstration

"Clark, if you could help us dispose of the Frost Giants' bodies, that would be incredible. And let's be honest—no one here is ready to face your wrath. Only you can help us now."

Hearing Coulson say this, Clark suddenly realized—this was the perfect opportunity to show off his power. Especially since Coulson's team likely had several spies embedded from other organizations—probably at least five. If he could flex his muscles in front of them, it might be enough to scare them out of making any reckless moves.

After all, nothing is more valuable than life itself. Even if these spies had been brainwashed to accept death for the mission, their puppet masters certainly weren't that selfless.

And Clark knew one thing for sure: if anyone dared to target him—or worse, his family—after this little display, then he'd let them learn one brutal truth:

There's no Buddha in the West.

With his current speed, Clark could circle the globe in roughly 20 minutes. Which meant, if he wanted to find someone—anyone—he could do it in under 10 minutes, even if they were on the opposite side of the world.

If the target was in America? One minute. Tops.

Clark thought to himself: Hopefully nothing comes of this. But if someone takes the bait and reveals themselves... even better.

"Go. I'll give you ten minutes. Leave the truck here."

Clark knew Coulson couldn't publicly admit he was planning to destroy the Frost Giants' corpses—so he decided to play the villain and let Coulson take the hint.

Coulson immediately caught on. He knew Clark's words weren't directed at him—but rather, aimed at the potential spies around them.

With only a moment's hesitation, Coulson grabbed his comms:"Fitz, get out of the truck. Everyone—fall back!"

Without another word to Clark, he turned and got into a nearby vehicle.

"Sir… we're just leaving? Like that?"In the driver's seat, Agent Simmons turned and looked at Coulson with disbelief.

As a Level 5 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Simmons didn't know exactly what they were transporting—but he knew it wasn't ordinary. Now, to abandon the mission just because of one man's command? It didn't sit right.

"What, you want to fight him?" Coulson grinned."That's Superman. Did you see what he did to the guys chasing us? They had more firepower than we do."

Simmons had to admit—Coulson wasn't wrong.Still, it stung to abandon a mission that agents had been willing to die for.

"Simmons, we're trained to give our lives for the mission. But when the odds of success are zero? Sometimes, walking away is the right call."

Coulson turned to look out the back window, his eyes lingering on Clark's distant figure. He didn't know why Clark gave them exactly ten minutes—but if that's what Superman said, there had to be a reason.

He suppressed the urge to stay and watch what Clark was about to do—and signaled the rest of the convoy to retreat.

Meanwhile, in hidden corners of the convoy, a few agents discreetly pulled out encrypted transmitters, sending brief bursts of data to unknown recipients.

Within five minutes of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s departure, several spy satellites above Earth had already shifted their orientation, all focusing on Clark.

Clark felt the gaze from above. He looked up—and spotted the satellites tracking him.

He smiled.

This was what he'd been waiting for.

If his strength had previously only been estimated, today, they'd learn to fear it.

Clark glanced at the retreating S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicles. He had to wait until they were out of the blast radius. If he miscalculated, he might end up visiting Coulson's funeral instead.

Once the convoy had gotten at least five kilometers away, Clark looked up at the satellites again and grinned—a warning and a challenge.

Then, Clark detonated the energy suit around his body—triggering a solar flare-like explosion.

Just as HYDRA and various other organizations were trying to figure out why Clark was smiling…

A blinding light burst from his body.

In an instant, the light engulfed everything within a ten-kilometer radius. From the satellites' point of view, it looked like a second sun had appeared on Earth.

The glare was so intense that the satellite feed turned to white static.

Back in the real world, Coulson and the others—though facing away—were still overwhelmed by the brightness.

Even from behind, the entire landscape lit up.The Earth's surface reflects light—so even though they weren't looking directly at Clark, they still felt like they'd stared into the sun.

And that wasn't all.

BOOM!!!!!!

An earth-shattering explosion followed the light. The blast was so loud, several agents instinctively slammed on the brakes.Vehicles screeched to a halt. Some crashed into each other due to reaction delays and inertia.

Coulson rubbed his head as he opened the door—he'd hit it during the sudden stop.He really needed to start wearing seatbelts.

He stepped outside and drew his pistol, activating his comm:

"Everyone—"

But he stopped mid-sentence.

Coulson's eyes widened. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Because unlike the last dust-heavy shockwave Clark caused, this time the explosion was so intense that it vaporized the surrounding dust and debris. There was nothing blocking the view.

So when Coulson stepped out, he saw it clearly:

A giant crater—a bottomless pit stretching far into the Earth.

He didn't know what Clark had just done. But the fact that he couldn't see the edge of the crater with the naked eye meant one thing:

The blast radius was at least 8 kilometers wide.

As for the depth?

Coulson couldn't even guess.

Meanwhile, far away in a secure monitoring room, General Ross was watching via satellite.

Unlike Coulson, Ross had access to the exact data:

"General, based on our readings… Superman's attack was equivalent to several billion nuclear bombs going off simultaneously. The core temperature exceeded several hundred million degrees."

"But oddly, the blast area was small—only about a 10-kilometer diameter, with a crater depth of almost 3 kilometers."**

Ross was silent.

And for the first time in a very long time…

He felt fear.
