Chapter 57 - Chapter 57

"Loki… it was really you!"

Lowering his shield, Laufey finally saw clearly—the one who had just struck him was none other than Loki, wielding the Eternal Spear.

"As long as I'm here, you'll never lay a hand on my father. And let me remind you… you will die at the hands of Odin's son."

Loki didn't directly answer Laufey's question, but his words made his stance perfectly clear. In Loki's mind, Odin—not Laufey—was his true father. After all, it was Odin who raised him for thousands of years, who gave him real love and purpose—not the Frost Giant who had abandoned him.

Although Laufey had blocked Loki's initial strike with his shield, Loki didn't care. With the Eternal Spear in hand, he was confident he could take him down.

"So be it. Then I'll just kill you first." Laufey realized that with Loki here, he wouldn't get the chance to kill Odin. First, Loki had to die.

At that moment, Thor and Clark arrived in Asgard—only to be blocked by a battalion of Frost Giants.

"Thor," Clark said calmly, eyes scanning the battlefield, "you go to your father's resting hall. I see Loki fighting a massive Frost Giant—must be Laufey, the Frost Giant King."

"Leave these guys to me. Go help your brother. Once I clean this up, I'll catch up."

Clark used his X-ray vision to locate Loki and confirm what he had already suspected: things were not going as they did in the original story. Loki hadn't killed Laufey in a single move—he was in a direct fight with him.

Seeing this, Clark was genuinely concerned. He doubted Loki could defeat Laufey alone, and if Laufey somehow killed both Loki and Odin, it would be catastrophic.

"Got it!" Thor nodded. Hearing that Laufey was in Odin's chambers fighting Loki, he panicked. He didn't have time to deal with these foot soldiers.

And when Clark mentioned leaving the battlefield to him, Thor immediately agreed.

He raised Mjolnir and soared off toward the location Clark had indicated—being a prince of Asgard, Thor knew the city's layout like the back of his hand.

Seeing Thor leave, many Frost Giants tried to chase after him to fulfill Laufey's orders—but someone was even faster.

Before they could move more than a few steps, Clark had already appeared in front of them.

"I don't want to waste my time with you," he said coldly. "So it's best if you just die now."

Then, he unleashed his heat vision—tens of thousands of degrees scorching light sliced through the air. Within seconds, every Frost Giant in Clark's line of sight was cleaved in half.

This wasn't Earth anymore. Back on Earth, Clark always had to worry about S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and civilians getting caught in the crossfire, so he avoided using wide-range heat vision. But here—no such concerns.

Asgard could take some damage. Heck, in Thor: Ragnarok, didn't Thor himself destroy it?

So, Clark used his heat vision to obliterate clusters of Frost Giants. As for the few dodging around the edges, Clark met them with his fists—quick, brutal strikes, wiping them out to "help Thanos with the overpopulation problem in Jotunheim."

The elite battalion that Laufey brought lasted just twelve minutes against Clark.

With the area cleared, Clark soared toward the throne room, where Thor and Loki were battling Laufey.

Watching the fight from afar, Clark was impressed. This Laufey was nothing like the one in the movies who got killed in seconds. Here, he was handling both Thor and Loki at once—and not just holding his own.

In fact, he had them on the ropes.

But Clark wasn't surprised. This was the same Laufey who, at his peak, had injured Odin so severely that he lost an eye—and survived the encounter. It made no sense for such a powerful figure to fall so easily in the original timeline.

Yes, he was old now, maybe weaker—but still far above what Thor and Loki alone could handle.

As Clark arrived, he saw Thor and Loki both getting overwhelmed. Laufey's icy shield deflected all their attacks, and each of his strikes hit like a freight train, slamming them into walls like ragdolls.

But Clark quickly noticed a flaw.

Laufey… was slow.

Not slower than Thor or Loki—possibly even faster—but compared to Clark, he was a turtle.

Thor's flight speed was limited—he relied on Mjolnir, and it wasn't much use in close combat. But Clark was different.

Not only was he fast—he controlled speed. He could fight at Mach-level velocities without being affected by inertia. This was something even Flash couldn't do without the Speed Force.

And Clark had both speed and power. Laufey's ice shield could block the Eternal Spear—but Clark was sure it couldn't block him.

So, without warning, Clark accelerated—nearly Mach 30—and slammed his fist into Laufey's back.

BOOM!

Laufey was sent flying through the golden palace walls, knocked out cold, crashing out of the royal hall like a meteor.

"Thor," Clark called back calmly, "stay with your father. Wherever Laufey goes, I'll follow. Oh, and… keep an eye on your brother too."

Thor and Loki were speechless.

Loki recognized him immediately—the man who defeated the Destroyer with his bare hands. The Midgardian they called Superman—Clark Kent.

So when Clark told him to stay put, Loki obeyed. He let go of the Eternal Spear, raised his hands, and showed he had no intention of resisting.

Because all Loki had seen of Clark was this: unstoppable power, unbreakable defense, and absurd speed.

And just now, Clark had casually punched Laufey out of the palace.

That was all Loki needed to see.

As Clark flew through the hole left by Laufey, he was already planning to end things. He didn't want to be the kind of villain who talked too much and gave the enemy time to recover.

Meanwhile, Loki watched him go—and the second Clark was out of sight, he grabbed the Eternal Spear again.

Because now… Thor was walking toward him.

Holding Frigga gently in one arm, Mjolnir in the other, Thor's eyes were blazing.

"Loki…" he growled, "why didn't you tell her? That you tried to kill my friend… and me?!"

"What?!" gasped Frigga, her eyes locking onto Loki with disbelief.
