Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 Thor’s Friends

As for the S.H.I.E.L.D. fortified base, not long after Clark left, the radar alarms began to blare.

"What's going on?!"

Hearing the alarm, Coulson rushed to the radar station and saw multiple red dots suddenly appear on the radar screen.

"I don't know. These things suddenly appeared on the radar without any approach trajectory. They're in the sky!"

Hearing that, Coulson immediately thought of how the Frost Giants had suddenly appeared in the sky the last time as well. He quickly picked up his radio and issued a base-wide alert.

"Enemy attack! Attention, enemy attack!"

Just as Coulson finished speaking, he felt the temperature around him drop sharply. One moment it felt like summer, the next it felt like winter.

Then they heard the sound of heavy objects hitting the ground. Coulson rushed outside and saw numerous Frost Giants now inside the defensive perimeter.

Upon landing, the Frost Giants immediately formed weapons made of ice in their hands.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents weren't stupid. Seeing these snarling, armed blue-skinned beings, it was clear they weren't here to talk peacefully. Coupled with the warning of an enemy incursion, the agents didn't hesitate—they launched the first attack.

But what happened next shocked everyone. Earth's supposedly unbeatable firearms barely scratched the Frost Giants. At most, they chipped off a few pieces of ice from their bodies.

No bullet could cause real harm. The Giants' thin layer of icy armor deflected every shot. The agents' attacks were useless. Meanwhile, the Frost Giants surged forward through the hail of bullets.

To ensure Thor would never return to Asgard, Laufey had sent nearly 200 elite Frost Giants—this was the maximum the hidden portal Loki discovered could handle.

After they passed through, the portal collapsed from overload. Whether they succeeded or not, there would be no return to Jotunheim. These Frost Giants were on a suicide mission.

But if they succeeded in killing Thor, their deaths would be worth it, and the Frost Giants would honor their sacrifice.

To them, these Midgardian insects standing in their way were utterly unforgivable.

Through the barrage of gunfire, the Frost Giants reached the agents. Raising their icy blades, they slashed down without hesitation.

The agents, with only human-level strength and no powers, stood no chance against the sheer force and speed of the Frost Giants. Their firearms ineffective, they were like chickens before wolves.

"You go! Head northwest—just find Clark!"

Realizing his people were no match for the Frost Giants, Coulson planned to retreat. Thor had to survive—especially here on Earth. Coulson didn't know if Loki would blame Earth if Thor died here.

So no matter what, keeping Thor alive came first. As for what would happen to Thor afterward—whether he'd be taken and dissected—Coulson didn't know.

"No! I'm a warrior—I won't run!"

Though Coulson urged him to escape, Thor couldn't let others fight and flee alone while he ran away.

"You're crazy. You're not the God of Thunder anymore. You have no powers!"

Jane, standing nearby, quickly pulled Thor back. She didn't know how powerful Thor used to be, but right now he'd be walking into certain death.

As the two argued, Clark returned from the distance.

Seeing the battle between the Frost Giants and S.H.I.E.L.D., Clark didn't waste time chatting. He immediately joined the fight.

Though Laufey had sent his elite, they were still no match for Clark. Even outnumbered, Clark quickly overwhelmed them.

Against Clark's fists, their icy armor was useless—bullets might not hurt them, but Clark could.

To the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents watching, Clark looked like a red lightning bolt flashing through the battlefield. With every strike, another Frost Giant fell.

In under two minutes, all 200+ Frost Giants were wiped out by Clark.

"Why were there so many Frost Giants this time? How did they get here?"

As he finished off the last one, Clark casually glanced at Thor. He remembered the movie, and this scene definitely wasn't in it. Since when did Laufey want to kill Thor? Wasn't Odin his main target?

"I don't know. Besides the Bifrost, there shouldn't be any other way to travel between realms." Thor was confused too. The Giants hadn't arrived via the Bifrost.

"I don't know what's happening in Asgard anymore. Why would the Frost Giants invade Midgard in such numbers?"

Looking at the scattered corpses, Thor began to worry something had gone wrong in Asgard. After all, Asgard ruled over the Nine Realms. Everything within them was under Asgard's control.

And then there was Heimdall, the all-seeing, all-hearing guardian of Asgard. There was no way he would let so many Frost Giants into Midgard unnoticed. Something must have happened to Asgard.

The thought made Thor anxious—but what could he do? Without his godly powers, even returning to Asgard was pointless.

Just then, as he looked at Clark standing before him, an idea suddenly popped into Thor's mind.

"Oh, right. I just met your four friends—three guys and a girl. I think the girl's name was Sif."

Clark, unaware of Thor's worries, remembered the four Asgardians he'd just encountered and mentioned them casually.

"Sif? They're coming to Midgard too?"

Thor was taken aback. Just moments ago he was wondering if Asgard had fallen. But now, if Sif and the others were here—what did that mean for Asgard?

"Yeah, I spoke to them briefly. If I'm not mistaken, they were Sif and the three warriors of Asgard. But I felt something was happening here, so I came back. They should be arriving soon."

As Clark spoke, he glanced toward where the Bifrost had appeared earlier. He saw that Sif and the others were moving fast—they'd be there any moment.

"Thor! My friend—we found you!"

A short while later, Sif and the others arrived and were warmly greeted by Thor and his group.

"Wow…"

Jane couldn't help but gasp. Even though she had mentally prepared herself, seeing the four dressed in their full Asgardian garb was still stunning.

Thor, despite being a Norse god, always wore human clothes and had no powers, so he didn't seem that unusual. But Sif and the warriors looked like they'd stepped off a film set.

Seeing his friends, Thor spread his arms and gave Sif a hug.
