Chapter 183: Lanna Sect
Time began to pass, and after two days, Seraph and Peka arrived at Pokrarus Village.
At this location, they were not far from the village.
Seraph dismounted and waved goodbye to Peka. "Good luck on your journey. If I have any problems, I'll definitely go find Princess Peka."
Peka dismounted from Torem and reached out to shake Seraph's hand. "Thank you for everything. Your kindness in helping me, I will never forget."
Seraph reached out to shake his hand. "See you later." [Since I woke up, you're the only one who made me breakfast. I owe you my greatest thanks.]
Seraph let go of Peka and walked in the other direction.
Peka stood and sent Seraph off until he was out of sight.
Peka climbed onto Torem's horse. "You're welcome."
Torem began to use his full strength to walk. He walked forward slowly, without rushing.
Seraph was waiting for time to pass. It was morning, and he decided to let Peka go in first, and he would enter the village at noon.
Time passed, and at noon, Seraph saw the right time, so he started walking towards Pokraras Village.
After a while, Seraph arrived at the entrance to Pokraras Village.
Seraph stood and watched as the travelers stood at the entrance.
A wooden fence surrounded the area, and a line of people dressed in yellow was standing.
Each of them was wearing the yellow garb of a warrior.
Seraph looked at the warrior. "According to Peka, the people guarding the village wall were from the Lanna sect. Their clothes had two circles on their designs."
Seraph walked, looking around for a moment, trying not to notice. [It seems like a demon has started hunting in this place, why is there such a wall? It seems real.]
Seraph walked to the line, waiting to enter the village.
Everyone stood staring at Seraph. It wasn't unusual, since Seraph was so young. Coming here alone meant he had a high chance of dying.
It was suspicious, but it would be a different story if there were bodyguards.
Seraph stood in line and arrived at the counter at the village entrance.
Seraph stared at the old man The village guard, wearing Lanna sect clothing, sat at the seraph. "What are you doing here?"
The seraph replied with a straight face. "I'm here to hire an escort. I'm going to another village, so I've hired someone here to take me there."
The seraph sat up. "Where do you want to go?"
"Gollen Village."
"Oh, Tenshin's location? Interesting. So, how did you get here? If I remember correctly, getting here is very dangerous, you know?"
"That matter, I got separated from my original group and my escort died along the way. So, if possible, I'd like to take refuge in you."
The seraph looked at the seraph's clothing. There was blood and a few wounds from mosquito bites.
"I understand. Please come in. Read the village rules on the way."
The seraph nodded in thanks. The entrance fee is one gold coin.
The old man accepted it with a slight smile. "A rich man's son, then."
Seraph can enter the village. The entrance fee is one gold coin.
Village residents and travelers alike walked to the numerous shops set up at the village entrance.
Many people were interested in Seraph, a handsome boy.
Seraph mingled with the crowd, picking up a slip of paper with the village's rules written down.
"First, don't harm anyone. Committing a crime is a double offense. First, the basic rule."
Second, don't go into the center of Pokraras Village. This one seems suspicious, but I'll leave it at that.
Third, obey the people from the Lanna Clan. The yellow-robed ones, I guess. No problem.
Fourth, if you see anything unusual, immediately report it to the Lanna Clan staff.
"
Seraph looked at the rules and read them all.
Seraph read them all and headed to a restaurant to find a place to stay.
Seraph watched as people bought a variety of items.
Seraph looked around for a moderately secure rental house.
He came across a shop called Mitik.
Seraph stopped in front of the shop and saw people in Lanna garb walking in and out of the shop.
Seraph thought to himself, seeing many Lanna sect members coming and going.
[This shop is friendly. Come on, this shop and most of the Lanna sect members live here. Whatever happened, I'll be safe.
No fool would rob me in a shop full of Lanna sect members.
If I go to the old shop, I'll probably get robbed. When that happens, things will get messy.]
Seraph decided to enter Mitik, where many Lanna sect members were coming and going.
Seraph opened the door and the shop wasn't very old.
Inside, many Lanna sect members were sitting and eating.
Many eyes were on the new entrant.
Seraph walked in without looking around. He headed towards the counter, where a female waitress was serving.
Seraph didn't bother looking around, afraid that he'd think I was looking for trouble, so he focused on finding a room.
It was a woman standing there wiping dishes, a white tablecloth. "Welcome, customer," he said.
Seraph nodded, sitting down in a chair at the counter.
"I'd like to know the price of this room."
The waitress checked the dishes and looked at Seraph. "It's ten silver dollars per night, not including food. How many days are you interested in staying?"
Seraph nodded. "Nine nights," he said. "I'll be staying here for nine days."
The waitress nodded. "Ninety silver dollars in total."
Seraph took a gold coin and placed it in the woman's hand. "Here you go, and the rest is a tip for my beautiful sister."
The waitress took the money with a small smile.
"Thank you very much."
Seraph nodded, ordered, and paid for her meal.
The waiter took the order and ordered the food for the kitchen staff to start cooking.
While waiting for the food, Seraph asked, "Sister, are there any mercenaries here? I'd like to hire someone to escort me out of the village to another village."
The young woman seemed thoughtful. "That's true, but they're not mercenaries. They're people from the Lanna Sect who are tasked with escorting people to various locations."
"Sister, do you know how much it costs to hire someone?"
"From what I've heard, the lowest level of escort is ten gold coins, and the highest is one hundred gold coins. Because the danger is so great these days, we have to take the extra risk."
Seraph thought back to the memory of his own money. [The lowest wage means higher chance of death, but the highest wage means higher chance of survival. Question: I don't have that much money. I'll think of a way.]
Seraph stared at the plate of grilled meat that had just been served. He thought of the meal he'd taken Seria to that strange restaurant.
[Seria, hurry up! Your brother is running out of options.]
Seraph still hopes that someone from the Tenshin School will come to his rescue.
