Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: Tower of the Seven Trials – Bone and Resolve

[Trial Challenge – Floor 1 to 3 Initiated]Remaining Time for Bonus: 1 Day, 21 HoursTotal Units: 40Formations: Alpha (Iden), Beta (Nyra), Support/Flex (Rael)

The Tower gates howled open. Stone groaned as mechanisms deep within the structure awakened for the first time in centuries. Above them, a strange sigil rotated, changing shape every few seconds—each turn representing a new phase.

"This place wasn't built to test strength," Nyra whispered. "It was built to test command."

Iden: "Good. We brought an army."

[Floor 1: Trial of Steel] – Combat Gauntlet

The moment they stepped inside, a timer appeared above the door: 15:00

Objective:Defeat all enemies before time runs out.3 Waves. 5 Elite-tier E monsters per wave.

The doors slammed shut behind them as obsidian-like constructs dropped from the ceiling—beasts fused with armor plating, glowing with corrupted core energy.

"Form up!" Iden commanded. "Alpha to center. Archers, Mage line behind!"

First Wave Incoming

Juggernauts (Tanks) took the brunt of the charge, anchoring in with Bonewall Taunt.

Warrior Skeletons rotated around the flanks, using formation strikes.

Mage Squad, led by the Arcbolt Seer, cast Arc Javelin and Mana Detonation in sync with Archer's Volley Storm.

Flameflayers down. Construct Maulers shattered.Time remaining: 12:13

Second Wave Incoming

Now came speed units—glass cannons with long-jump slashes and aerial swipes.

Iden activated: Dominion Pulse

His entire army synced for 10 seconds—every slash, bolt, and javelin landed in unison.

Flash-flash-flash!

Enemies fell like falling dominoes.

Time remaining: 7:50

Third Wave Incoming

Final wave: an armored Centurion Beast, flanked by two Blade Hounds and twin Summoner Shades.

Iden shifted tactics.

"Beta formation, hold left! I'll push the center with Skullbreaker!"

Bone Guardian Tank absorbed a high-impact cleave.

Shadow Piercer blinked behind a Shade summoner and impaled its core.

Arcbolt Seer overloaded the Centurion's shield node with Mana Mesh Overload.

The Centurion fell—shattering into chunks of obsidian.

[Floor 2: Trial of Traps] – Coordination Under Fire

The door slid open into a hallway filled with alternating floors, shifting platforms, and rotating spike walls. At the center: a locked mechanism with three glyph-inscribed pedestals.

Objective:Reach the central platform. Activate three glyphs simultaneously.Avoid fatal trap rotations.

"Scouts forward," Iden said. "Builders with me. Mages stay behind walls, support only."

Skeleton Scouts dashed ahead, tracing path triggers, then marking them with bone fragments.

Builder Skeletons used floating planks and scrap from their packs to construct mobile platforms and quick barriers—using the environment to bypass wall traps entirely.

Rael directed the team from the back with Sanctum Pulse Light, giving timed healing buffs and slowing trap timers near her aura.

Nyra studied the trap glyphs.

"These rotate every 9 seconds. Trigger wrong one, you start over."

They coordinated the three glyphs' timing by assigning one Scout to each. On Iden's mark—

"NOW!"

CLACK—! All three activated.

[Floor 3: Trial of Reflection] – The Puzzle Labyrinth

Stone walls reformed into a massive mirrored chamber. Dozens of Iden and his skeletons reflected in all directions. Floating stones hovered mid-air—each with a riddle engraved.

"A mind alone breaks, but a pattern obeys.Form the one, by becoming many."

Objective:Solve the puzzle sequence by mimicking a pattern using skeletons.Penalty for each wrong formation: Lightning pulse

Iden took the center position.

"Mages to the left. Warriors to the right. Tank center. Archers behind."

As the reflections moved… they shifted. One group of reflections didn't match.

"It's a formation lock," Iden realized. "They're testing structure discipline."

He switched roles.

Replaced a Builder with a Mage

Swapped a Scout to a mirrored Archer's spot

Synced formation across mirrored versions

The floor pulsed. Correct.

Second sequence: a triangle of magic, surrounded by blades.Third: a layered diamond requiring timing and spell sync.

Each test became harder—but with every correct match, the reflections bowed and vanished.

"We've cleared three," Rael said, panting. "Four more to go."

Nyra nodded, her glyph blade flickering. "And the next one will be where they stop playing games."

Iden looked up at the spiral ceiling, hearing the Tower rearrange itself.

"Good," he said. "We're just getting started."
