Chapter 270 - Sacrifice

Huo Yuhao had a dreadful premonition—if the power within Jiang Feixin were to awaken and erupt, the outcome today would be disastrous.

Jiang Feixin could no longer suppress her aura. The pressure unique to the Emperor Auspicious Beast surged outward uncontrollably!

Even the two great soul beasts within Huo Yuhao's spiritual sea were struck with shock.

Meanwhile, Elder Song, moving with her unmatched speed, broke through the blockade formed by Kong Deming and Du Busi, charging straight toward Jiang Feixin!

Just as she was about to succeed, a sharp voice rang out—

"Light of Time and Space!"

A beam of light, about ten meters wide, shot out from the side, streaking directly into Elder Song's path. The entire sky turned a strange and beautiful shade of ethereal blue! The beam struck with inescapable force.

Elder Song was hit head-on. The divine power surging around her weakened slightly.

At the edge of the arena, Xie Lingling gasped for breath. The attack she had just unleashed was the strongest one of her life—but it had also drained a massive portion of her soul power. Fortunately, Kong Deming and Du Busi had already caught up, moving to block Elder Song's advance.

Neither dared to let Huo Yuhao and Jiang Feixin flee the area; only by staying close could they respond at once if anything went wrong.

"Old man, say something! We can't just stand here—this spiritual pressure is terrifying, even for me!" the Iceworm cried anxiously as he watched the chaotic battle.

"Shut up, you overgrown bug," Electrolux's cold voice cut in. After a brief silence, he said gravely, "Yuhao, I need to borrow your body."

"No problem!" Huo Yuhao agreed without hesitation.

At once, a gray radiance bloomed behind him. A vast and majestic figure appeared, then merged directly into his body. Huo Yuhao closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his irises had turned a calm, misty gray.

He reached out toward Jiang Feixin.

At first, Jiang Feixin instinctively resisted his touch—but she soon realized she could no longer fight back. The power flowing from Huo Yuhao's body carried a presence she couldn't refuse. Reluctantly, she allowed the contact.

Gray light burst forth. A divine mixture of light and death enveloped the area, pressing down on the power raging within Jiang Feixin's body.

Above the Spirit Pagoda, Tai Tan had already transformed into his Titan Giant Ape form. With a thunderous roar, he smashed the God of Fate from the heavens, sending the deity crashing into the grand hall below. The once-magnificent Soul Pagoda collapsed; the emblems of Sun, Moon, and Mirror Lotus shattered upon the ground.

Through the billowing smoke and dust, the God of Fate stood once more, chest rising and falling.

Even battered, the deity still appeared otherworldly—untouched by mortal dust.

From above, the Titan Giant Ape came crashing down again, its colossal body shaking the land. The ground split apart, and the surrounding buildings of the Spirit Pagoda quaked and crumbled.

Beating its chest like a war drum, Tai Tan's voice boomed:

"Boy! Such stubborn pride—and yet so little strength! Let me teach you what real battle means!"

Like a cannonball, his massive form hurled itself forward, crashing toward the God of Fate.

Mirror lotuses shattered under his charge. The God of Fate swung the Icefire Dragon Spear to block him—this divine weapon, forged from the remnants of the two Dragon Kings' bones, was the only thing capable of withstanding the Titan Ape's Sea-God-enhanced assault.

The impact of their clash spread in all directions. Buildings collapsed into rubble. The God of Fate was hurled backward but quickly recovered, soaring once more into the heavens and unleashing continuous waves of soul skills toward the raging beast.

The Domain of the Four Immortal Execution Swords was already active—but the simulated formation could never compare to the true might of the genuine Four Immortal Swords.

The Moon in Water's techniques, after all, were but illusions—reflections without substance.

From above, the God of Fate cast a glance toward the distant battlefield, where the Snow Empress was being forced back by Niu Tian's overwhelming strength. Then, turning back to the Titan Giant Ape, a flicker of solemn resolve crossed the deity's androgynous face.

Raising a hand, the God of Fate drew forth a single black scale and tossed it into the air.

"Di Tian!"

The scale emitted a dark, metallic radiance. A spatial rift tore open—and from it stepped Di Tian, clad in black battle garb.

His golden eyes swept over the chaos below. The power emanating from Niu Tian and Tai Tan made even him wary. When had the Douluo Continent produced soul beasts of such terrifying level?

"Di Tian, restrain Wang Dong'er!"

The God of Fate pointed the Icefire Dragon Spear toward Wang Dong'er as they gave the command.

Di Tian's eyes flickered. One look at her was enough to understand the deity's intent. He stepped forward and charged.

But as he approached Wang Dong'er, her once-vacant eyes suddenly flashed with divine light. She lifted her gaze to meet his, and brilliant blue radiance burst from her pupils.

Behind her, a golden trident shimmered into view—its outline vast and sacred.

One ring after another of golden light rippled outward, sweeping toward Di Tian and the others.

It was the Sea God's divine technique—

A Thousand Years of White Clouds and Empty Skies!

Di Tian's pupils shrank as he rapidly retreated. The God of Fate shouted toward the Snow Empress, "Snow Empress—fall back, now!"

Sensing the oppressive, heaven-sealing might of the technique, the Snow Empress wasted no time. She instantly disengaged, pulling away from Niu Tian and retreating to a safe distance.

But Niu Tian and Tai Tan refused to let them withdraw. Both charged forward in unison.

Under the crushing divine pressure, the Martial Soul Fusion Technique between Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong was forcibly broken. The two fell from the sky.

"Shengyu!"

The Snow Empress cried out, desperate to rescue them—but Niu Tian and Tai Tan were already upon her and Di Tian. With both beasts glaring fiercely at them, neither could spare the focus to save the falling pair.

As the ground rushed up to meet them, Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong exchanged faint, bitter smiles.

"So in the end… this world still belongs to the Tang Clan. Sorry, Fate."

After a long silence, Fate's voice—soft and heavy—echoed in their minds.

"No… you owe me no apology. I'm the one who dragged you into this storm of rebellion against the gods. But… the destiny of this continent cannot be decided by those deities of the God Realm."

At those defiant words, both Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong sighed softly as they crashed into the ruins below, sending a cloud of dust billowing skyward.

When the dust settled, a sphere of chaotic light surrounded them, shielding their bodies within a massive crater. Though the impact had shattered the earth, neither of them was harmed.

Staring at the swirling energy barrier, Jiang Shengyu frowned.

"Fate… was this your doing?"

"Yes."

Fate's voice resonated faintly.

"As long as the two halves of the Sea God's Daughter's soul remain separate, that man can grant no more than partial blessings. He can temporarily elevate others to the level of a Ultimate Douluo—or even briefly touch the realm of a True God—but no more than that."

"Even a temporary god… we still can't match them," Jiang Shengyu murmured.

"No… we still have one last chance."

As Fate's words faded, the chaotic light began to converge—flowing into their bodies.

A mysterious and unfathomable power seeped into them both. At Jiang Qingtong's sixth soul ring position, a crimson ring appeared, followed by a ring of chaotic light that slowly rose beneath their feet, expanding outward.

The heavens trembled.
