At Minato Namikaze's wedding venue, Chinya and Hizashi Hyuga verbally agreed that Neji Hyuga would become Chinya's disciple.
Kushina pinched Neji Hyuga's little cheek: "Looks like in the future, Neji will have to call me 'Master's wife' just like Kakashi does."
Meanwhile, Kakashi was patrolling the streets of Konoha.
It was because Minato, despite being known as the Yellow Flash for his incredible speed, had never managed to save his own subordinates. Plus, Minato's constant preaching about forgiveness really annoyed Kakashi.
That's why Kakashi didn't want to attend Minato's wedding at all, so he made an excuse about needing to patrol and didn't come.
Chinya and Hizashi Hyuga hadn't lowered their voices when talking, so many people overheard Chinya planning to take Hizashi's son as his second disciple, and one by one they showed surprised expressions.
Right now Neji was still very young, less than one year old, and his talent hadn't shown yet. Why would Chinya accept Neji as a disciple this early? What if Neji turned out to have poor talent in the future?
Many gazes fell upon Chinya and Hizashi Hyuga, including those from Hizashi Hyuga's older brother, Hiashi Hyuga.
Hiashi Hyuga furrowed his brows slightly. He was deeply displeased that Hizashi and Chinya had decided upon this discipleship so casually.
Hiashi was upset that Hizashi actually decided such an important matter without even discussing it with him first.
If Neji's mentor were someone else, Hiashi wouldn't be overly concerned. But the fact that it was Chinya made Hiashi have to pay close attention to this matter.
After all, Chinya's identity in Konoha was too sensitive.
Chinya was one of Danzo's people, and as the clan leader, Hiashi clearly knew that Chinya had been promoted by high-level figures like Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi specifically to counter the Uchiha Clan.
If the Hyuga Clan got too close with Chinya, it might bring unnecessary trouble to the Hyuga Clan.
Originally, if fewer people knew about it and if Hizashi hadn't agreed, Hiashi could have privately asked Hizashi to refuse Chinya's request to take Neji as his disciple.
But now, many people had already heard about this, and Hizashi had already agreed. If he later asked Hizashi to refuse Chinya, it might easily create hostility with Chinya.
Making an enemy of Chinya was something Hiashi absolutely wanted to avoid.
After all, probably no one here wanted to oppose Chinya. Anyone who incurred Chinya's hatred would find themselves hunted without mercy, as if by a man possessed.
Hiashi Hyuga expressionlessly picked up his teacup and took a sip of tea.
Although he was Hizashi Hyuga's older brother, he was also the head of the Main Family and the overall leader of the entire Hyuga Clan.
As the head of the Main Family and the leader of the Hyuga Clan, Hiashi Hyuga had to consider things for both the Main Family and the entire clan.
Kushina held Neji in her arms for a while, and after Neji fell asleep, she gently handed him back to Hizashi Hyuga.
There were only ten minutes left until the wedding started when Danzo finally arrived at the hall.
However, Danzo wore the expression of a man who had just lost all hope.
Chinya gave Danzo a slight nod, a greeting.
Danzo nodded back to Chinya, then sat down in his seat.
Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Miyuki's wedding was hosted by Minato's mentor, Jiraiya.
When the time arrived, Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Miyuki, dressed in wedding attire, stood on the stage.
Each of them spoke about how they got to know and fell in love with each other, and then exchanged heartfelt vows while expressing hopes for the future.
Jiraiya guided the ceremony step by step until the wedding ritual for Minato and Miyuki came to an end.
Uzumaki Kushina wore a puzzled expression: "This wedding seems quite different from ours—it feels too plain. There's hardly any special feeling to it at all."
Chinya explained to Kushina: "That's because this is a 'Human-Witnessed Ceremony'—it's basically a simple legal declaration of marriage witnessed by close family and friends, rather than a spiritual or ritualized event.
But our Shinto-Style Wedding follows sacred tradition and ritual. It is considered a life milestone in many families, filled with symbolic steps to honor ancestors and deities. Because of this, its rites and formalities are highly elaborate, giving a solemn and sacred feeling.
The Fourth is Hokage, so he must abide by certain official customs, which is why he could only choose a ceremony that conforms to the regulations set for the village. That leaves him with the Human-Witnessed Ceremony as the only option."
Kushina understood and sighed, "I see. It's such a pity that your most important day comes once in a lifetime, yet you don't even get to choose how it's celebrated."
Chinya looked at Minato on the stage, smiled slightly, and said, "How do you know they feel any regret? Maybe they really enjoy this kind of ceremony. Anyway, we can finally eat now. Let's have a good meal and then leave."
After the wedding ceremony, everyone could predict what would happen next.
Since Minato had recently become Hokage, this wedding also served as a great opportunity for him to communicate with the heads of various ninja clans in Konoha.
Such social events held absolutely no meaning for Chinya, who felt it would be better to go home early.
After Minato and Miyuki toasted their guests, the first to leave was Danzo. No one thought it odd that he left so soon.
Chinya and Miyuki stayed briefly, then Chinya took his leave with her.
Before leaving, Chinya greeted Hizashi Hyuga: "Then, Lord Hizashi, please do enjoy yourself. Kushina and I shall take our leave now."
Hizashi rose to his feet: "Then we'll visit you in two days along with Neji."
Truthfully, Hizashi wanted to leave too—he wished to speak more with Chinya. But if Hiashi didn't leave, he couldn't go either.
After Chinya and Kushina left, they met Kakashi slumped against a telephone pole with a blank, dazed expression, clearly spacing out.
"Hey, isn't that Kakashi?"
Kakashi, snapped out of his thoughts, turned around and immediately approached Chinya and Kushina when he recognized them. "Teacher... Mrs. Teacher."
Chinya asked him, "So, did you have dinner yet? If not, come have some ramen with us and Kushina."
Scratching his head, Kakashi muttered, "But wouldn't the teacher and his wife have already eaten at the Fourth's wedding feast?"
Chinya rubbed his stomach, "Didn't fill me up. If I'm still hungry, Kushina must be too."
Kushina Uzumaki jabbed Chinya in the ribs, snapping, "Are you saying I ate too much again?"
Chinya threw his hands up, "No way! I never said that. Let's just go already! I'll start with a big pork bone ramen—extra large!"
Chinya, Kushina Uzumaki, and Kakashi headed to Ichiraku Ramen.
