Rayan's Perspective

The penthouse had begun to feel like a maze. No matter where he turned, Kael's presence loomed—his scent, his voice, his shadow.

Yet, a new slip of paper found its way under his teacup that morning.

You're not crazy. He's breaking you.

Rayan's hand shook so violently he almost dropped the porcelain. His eyes darted toward Kael, who stood across the room speaking with one of his men. Kael's smile was calm, gentle, like a husband seeing to his lover's comfort.

But the paper burned in his palm.

How? How had it gotten here?

His heart raced as if he were being watched—not by Kael, but by another. The thought made him dizzy, terrified, and yet, beneath that fear… a dangerous flicker of hope stirred.

If someone could slip notes past Kael's iron walls, maybe escape wasn't impossible.

Kael's Perspective

Kael's gaze flickered to Rayan as he dismissed his guard. His Omega's hands trembled as he drank, eyes unfocused, almost guilty.
