A woman was listening to her phone ring with a face of anticipation. But this time too no body picked it. Upon seeing her concerned a man walked to her.
"What is it? Is something bugging you?" he inquired.
"Oh thank God, Marude senpai. Miura kun call the CCG emergency line. But now that I'm trying to contact him, he isn't picking it up. I'm worried, something might had happened to him" she told worringly.
'It was pass midnight and he is not picking up the phone. If it is a ghoul he could still fend it with his Hammer. Something big is happening somewhere' he thought.
"Trace there phone location. Notify everyone that is present in the office that we are out for a rescue operation" he ordered and headed out of the reception room.
Upon hearing the announcement, Aiko freezed and turned back. Infront of Shinji was the infamous cannibal JASON. To make matter worse, Shinji's kagune was retreating.
"Gabi, let's go" she whispered.
Gabi springed into the air with such momentum that he landed into the ring, inbetween JASON and FOX.
"And who may you be?" JASON asked. JASON pulled out his rinkaku. His spiny squirrel tail kagune quickly grew into enormous size, just about to wrap Gabi into it's embrace.
But Gabi landed a punch on his chest. JASON was sent flying to the ring edge. He stopped himself by digging his kagune into the floor.
"Oh! this will be a sweet battle" JASON commented.
In the crowd there was an uproar. This unexpected fighter had turned the audience crazy. Even the announcer couldn't make any story to present at the moment. But three figure came close to him.
"He is quite good isn't he. I thought he was just a third rate ghoul. Good think we got him" Boro the older investigator said to the other in the dark. But there was no reply. When he turned to see why he was so quite, a spear was piercing out of his chest. Behind was ONI.
"Serves you right" she said. She found the investigator from the crowd by the smell left on the fox mask.
Upon seeing ONI and his partner dead, he let a death cry that startled everyone around him. The ghouls attention was drawn towards him but he didn't notice it. He pulled out his quinque to face the murderer. Upon seeing the blackish silver edge of the quinque, the ghouls roared.
"There are ghoul investigators."
Upon hearing those panic spread. Many ghouls dashed towards the exit. Some stood there ready to face whoever might come for them.
"How dare you brandish that thing infront of us. You have come to the wrong place tonight, investigator." Three ghoul closed in as a pack of wolves.
"Don't come any closer" he panicked. And with a swift, the kagune dismembered his arm. The three jumped over the injured man and began to eat him alive. His demise was intently watch by Aiko.
"That's the ONI" someone pointed her out.
"Oh how many months have I been looking for you. You took over my territory in 7th ward. Don't you remember? Now you will pay for it" another ghoul threatened her.
She let out a deep sigh and stood to face her opponent. She now unleashed her kagune. Like molten glass the RC cells flow over her arm and started to twist and wrap around it. At last it took the form of a giant sea conch shell. It was huge covering her arm nearly all her shoulder. It apex was pointed as a spear and much smaller spear pointed randomly out of the side of the main body. It was a well built koukaku kagune.
"Come have a piece of me" she said. With that both ran toward their likely demise.
Shinji stared at that giant's back. He was wearing a helmet, but he could tell it was Gabi. Just when he was about to assist him a kagune flew over the ring and wrap him round his waist. The kagune was like the backbone of a human and the bearer wore a white mask.
[Let see what happened a few minutes ago]
Three figures stood infront of the announcer. They were wearing plain white mask. The three of them seated at the VIP row. The one in the middle who acted as their leader was clad in a white suit. The announcer was puzzled what were they upto.
"I want to buy the FOX" the leader said plainly.
"But sir you must first talk it out with the owner. And I have no authority..."
"How about 6 million?" he asked.
"Sir I think that not the price for him" he replied politely.
"That's for you, send us the owner contact when you find him. We will talk about the money matters later" he told.
The announcer paused.
"Well it was a pleasure to do business with you sir" he offered his hand for a shake. But the leader only stared at it. The women might had been her assistant came forward and gave the suitcase to that stretched hand. The leader and the other man walked towards the exit.
"Aizara, bring him to the car" he ordered.
Aizara bowed and unleashed her kagune which like a bony flip was directed at unaware Shinji. She lifted him out of the ring and dragged him out to the exit. His scream felt on deaf ears. Only Aiko got a glimpse of his dragging figure.
Jason kagune had destroyed much of the cage ring. As Aiko dodged the attacks from her five assailants, she ended up inside the ring. She landed right over the body of an unconscious JASON. Swiftly, the five ghouls surrounded her. Brandishing their kagune they were ready to tear her to bits. But Aiko pulled out a strange move. She balance herself on the single thin spear of her kagune and rapidly turn spinning. They look were confused with that move. Pumping air into the shell by the posterior opening, enough pressure was build that shoot out all the smaller spines off the shell in all direction. Some flew by their sides, other pierced through their legs, arm and heads. Just in a second or two all of them were neutralized.
A very familiar call fell on the ears of all the ghouls present in the vicinity. The CCG was coming to get them. Even Aiko panicked.
"Gabi we have to find another exit. Quick" she said turning around.
There was a loud crushing sound. Gabi had punched the wall beforehand and created an exit for them. Aiko smiled and both of them sneaked out. JASON still remained asleep until the CCG got there.
At the other corner of the factory area, Shinji's hands, feet and mouth were tied up by the detached vertebral kagune. He was out at the backside of a car. A more luxurious car took the lead followed by the one Shinji was. And both of them were heading to the mountains.
