I stared at him in disbelief, my mouth hanging open.
"You're telling me your company organized tonight's drone display?"
"That's right. Though this isn't even our top crew. Our elite team got booked by some oil tycoon from Dubai for crazy money, so we're making do with the second string tonight."
The casual way he mentioned it left me speechless.
Suddenly everything clicked into place. No wonder he had money to burn.
The elevator whisked us to the penthouse level.
The revolving restaurant sparkled with elegant decorations and festive touches. Well-dressed guests mingled throughout the space, their laughter echoing off the windows.
Bonnie spotted me immediately and rushed over with excitement. "Freya, thank goodness you made it! I've been dying to see you for days, but my brother kept saying I'd be too loud and disturb your healing. How's that knee feeling?"
