Freya's POV
After we finished breakfast, I needed to get myself ready for work and planned to send Mack on his way first.
Instead, he insisted on waiting and driving me to the office.
"If you drive me there, how am I supposed to get home tonight? The subway?" I asked, blinking at him in confusion.
Mack shot back with dry humor, "If I'm dropping you off, why would I make you take the subway home? Obviously I'll be picking you up after work too."
His response caught me off guard.
He grinned and continued, "Isn't driving your girlfriend to and from work pretty standard boyfriend behavior? Do you really have such low expectations?"
I bit my lip, not knowing how to answer him.
The truth was, I'd never experienced this kind of treatment before. Years of independence had taught me to handle everything myself.
Mack must have sensed something because he crossed the room to me, letting out a sympathetic sigh. "You poor thing. Good thing you've got me now."
