My entire world tilted sideways in that moment.
Mira Tristan was pregnant?
The words hit me like a physical blow, leaving me frozen as I struggled to process this devastating revelation.
Minutes passed before rational thought returned, and I found myself staring at Jasper Tristan with growing dread. "Does she know who the father is?"
The question escaped before I could stop it, and Jasper's expression shifted into something truly terrifying.
My blood turned to ice as I realized how tactless the question sounded.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—" I stammered, desperate to take back the words.
The question had been purely instinctive, born from shock rather than malice.
Of course Mira couldn't identify the father. After what those men did to her, a paternity test would be the only way to determine parentage. But carrying a child conceived through such violence would be an endless torment.
She had destroyed herself completely.
