Freya's POV
Heat rushed to my face, painting my cheeks crimson as I shot a quick glance at Mack Ben. My words tumbled out in a rush as I addressed Jasper Tristan. "I was simply too exhausted to engage with your nonsense, so I threw those cutting remarks your way. Mack and I share nothing beyond friendship."
Jasper Tristan's gaze bore into me, his expression suggesting he struggled to separate truth from deception in my statements.
Mack Ben had already received a full briefing on this situation from Millie Dean, and my face-to-face explanation had cleared the air completely. Jasper Tristan's dramatic revelation didn't even register as a blip on his radar.
The man treated Jasper Tristan like an insignificant insect.
His warm gaze settled on me, that elegant smile spreading across his features. "Freya Colby, we should get moving."
"Perfect." My response came with a smile as I stepped past Jasper Tristan, making my way toward Mack Ben.
