Dr. Klein paused for a moment, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he gave a small nod.
"She is fine. We've managed to stabilize her."
"Oh...thank goodness!" Kendrick expelled the breath he didn't realize he was holding all this time.
"Thank you so much, doctor." Nathaniel grabbed the doctor's hand and shook him firmly. "You are a lifesaver."
Dr Klein's smile broadened. "I wouldn't put it that way, but you're welcome."
"So tell us, what really happened? Were her lungs punctured?" Kendrick demanded, a hint of curiosity and anxiety masking his voice.
"Thankfully no." Dr Klein responded, his voice carrying the weight of relief. "Her ribs were fractured in several places–some of them sharp enough to puncture her lung. But thankfully it didn't. We were able to repair the damage and place stabilizers on the worst breaks. Her breathing has improved significantly."
