Chapter 30 - Ch30: Good News

Days fluttered by like leaves in the autumn breeze, and suddenly, the deadline loomed just a week away. Each day at the library felt special, but today was particularly enchanting. Instead of her usual spot with a book in hand, he found her peacefully asleep, her head nestled on the table, surrounded by a cozy fortress of library books. The sight stirred something in him—a mix of warmth and concern, but most importantly, a strange uneasiness in the pit of his stomach.

As the bell chimed, her eyes fluttered open in a sleepy haze. She stretched, glanced around, then shuffled towards the exit. Leon wanted to reach out and ask if she was okay, but the words seemed to stick in his throat. Something about her was off. Her usual brisk pace was now slow and measured. With a spark of determination, he stepped in front of her.

"Mira…" he began, but hesitated as she shook her head gently, as if trying to clear a fog from her thoughts. Just then, she swayed, and before he could react, she fainted, collapsing into his arms like a delicate flower wilting in the sun.

"Mira! Wake up, please…" The panic surged through him as he cradled her gently, his heart racing. He hurriedly carried her to his car, fear gripping him tightly. The hospital felt like a mini adventure, though he wasn't sure if he liked where it was headed.

Within moments, Finn and James arrived at the hospital, concern etched across their faces. Finn rushed over, eyes wide with questions.

"Leon, what happened?" he asked, urgency in his voice.

"She… she fainted! Is she going to be okay?" Leon's voice trembled with worry.

Finn nodded, taking charge. "Don't panic. Let me check with the doctors." Just as he was about to dash off, the doctor emerged, a calm smile breaking through the tension.

"Don't worry, she's going to be fine. Just a bit hypoglycemic and anemic. We'll know more after the tests."

Leon let out a huge sigh of relief, a weight lifting off his shoulders. "Thank goodness…" he whispered before heading into the room where Mira lay resting.

"Mira… Hey, are you okay?" he asked softly, his heart melting at the sight of her.

"Ok," she murmured, her voice delicate and soft. "I'm fine."

Leon smirked, his playful side emerging. "Well, when you're back on your feet, I'm going to plan your diet. No arguments!"

"Hmmm…" she replied with a tiny smile. Even with her pale complexion, there was something enchanting about her.

Just then, Finn and James burst in, holding a piece of paper that looked like it held the secrets of the universe. They looked both anxious and excited.

"What's going on?" Leon asked, his curiosity piqued.

"L-Look…" Finn stammered, passing the paper.

Leon scanned the results, his eyes widening as realization struck. "Ahhh!!!!! She's… Pregnant!!!!"

In that instant, the world around him seemed to sparkle with a new magic. Leon felt a rush of emotions—excitement, fear, and an overwhelming sense of joy. Suddenly, he felt like his little world expanded into a beautiful adventure ahead.
