Ethan's POV
Ethan grabbed Maya's arm before she could march into the Sterling pack house.
"Wait," he whispered. "Don't just walk in there. Victoria has her father's men with her now. They'll catch you the second you step inside."
Maya turned to him with fire in her eyes. "I don't care! If Kai is really dead, then Victoria is going to pay. And if he's living, then I'm going to find him."
"I know. But we need to be smart about this." Ethan looked around to make sure no one was watching them. "There's something I never told you about this place."
"What?"
"When I lived here as Kai's Beta, I found secret caves under the pack house. They're old, from back when the Sterling family first built this place. Kai doesn't even know about them."
Maya's eyes went wide. "Secret tunnels?"
"They link to every important room in the house. Including the basement where they used to keep prisoners." Ethan's face was grim. "If Victoria is hiding something, that's where it would be."
