My whole body trembled in anger as Kaelith yanked open our temporary room opened. I continued my assault on him, biting and scratching his back for him to let me go and when he finally did, he yanked me into the bed.
My legs worked faster than my brain and in the next moment, I was bolting for the door. But the door clicked before I could get to it and I turned to the perpetrator with fury in my eyes "Open it".
"No".
"Open the damn door Kaelith".
His eyes blazed with raw fury, the hurt from earlier now buried under a wall of pure, in unprotected rage as he stood there like a living barricade, back pressed to the wood, arms folded across his chest. "Not a chance," he growled, voice low and edged with steel. "You're not going anywhere until you get this through your head. I'm not letting you run back to swallow poison."
