I closed eyes, my hand shaking in fear as I dropped a knock on the Alpha's door. Just like the owner, the door stood in front of me— cold and unforgiving. Like whatever or whoever is on the other side is someone I want to run away from. In a way, it was true and also wrong at the same time.
I waited for a few seconds before turning the knob and making my way into the room, reluctantly. My heart hammered again my rib cage as the Alpha's scent engulfed me and I immediately fixated my eyes on the floor.
