Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Silence. The calm after the mental storm of Room 1.Lin observed the adventurers catching their breath, their gazes warier, their stance no longer arrogant.

"Interesting..."

He closed his eyes for a moment. And let himself slide into memory.

[Flashback – World #3]

A sky tinged with violet stretched endlessly overhead.Strange crystal towers jutted from the ground — some tilted, others floating in midair.

On a large suspended platform, two silhouettes faced off in a duel of wits. One calm, focused: Kerow Lin.The other, with a fiery gaze and a bright laugh: Yuren Thal, ranked 9th in the last interdimensional tournament.

"You're doing it on purpose, right? You saw the solution already.""From the start. But I was curious if you'd get there on your own."

Yuren burst out laughing, wiping sweat from his brow.

"You're insane, you know that? You see everything like the game's already over."

Lin didn't answer. He was still focused on the three-dimensional chessboard in front of him. Each piece was a memory. Each move, a crack in the mind.

"Hey Lin... have you ever felt like you weren't made for this world?"

He looked up, just briefly.

"No. I feel like the world wasn't made for me."

Around them, silent onlookers watched.Respect? Fear? Curiosity?Hard to say.

But one thing shone clearly in their eyes:Lin was different.

[Back to the Present – Room 2]

The adventurers moved forward through a dim corridor. The walls were covered in fine webs, nearly invisible to the naked eye.

"I hate hallways like this… reeks of an ambush."

A soft chuckle echoed through the dark.

Then a sound. Light.A sort of tap tap tap on stone.

A creature leapt into view.

"Is that… a rabbit?"

Small. Furry. Droopy ears. But its eyes were blood red, gleaming with strange intelligence. And in its tiny paws — obsidian daggers, small but sharp.

"What the hell is this?!"

More appeared behind it.Four. Then six. Then eight.

[Depth Rabbits]Level: 4 to 7Status: Hostile. High coordination.Weapon: Obsidian DaggersBehavior: Stealthy. Precise. Cruel.

The rogue lunged with a quick strike —One rabbit dodged, then drove its dagger into the archer's shin.

"Ow! These little bastards are fast!"

[Lin – watching, amused]

"Danger doesn't need to be big. It just needs to be unpredictable."

He activated a special room effect: a mirage spell. Each rabbit would blur for a split second after every attack.

"Thought level 4 was just a warm-up?Wrong world."

The warrior swung with both hands, crushing two rabbits, but missed the rest. The priestess tried healing in a panic.Their coordination shattered.

"Stick together! They're pack hunters!""They're freaking RABBITS with KNIVES!"

One rabbit scaled the wall, sprang from a corner, and landed on the rogue's shoulder.

A dull thud.He dropped — a dagger stuck in his neck.

[Member "Kairn" – Unconscious]

[Lin – neutral gaze]

"First casualty. Just a warning."

He reduced the number of remaining rabbits.

"Let them pass. But let this room haunt them.Let it live in their dreams."

A side corridor opened. The survivors rushed into it, dragging their wounded ally.

Silence returned.

End of Room 2.
