Chapter 18 - making a heir

Lily's mind began to wander, replaying the events of the previous night with Julian. She thought about the movie, the rooftop stroll, and the selfie they took together. A soft smile spread across her face as she recalled the way Julian's expression changed when she poked his cheek and gave him a peck.

She replayed the moment when Julian carried her to her room and tucked her in, feeling a warmth in her heart. Lily's thoughts were filled with wonder, trying to understand what Julian's actions meant. Was he developing feelings for her? Or was he just being kind?

As she sat there, lost in thought, Lily's emotions swirled with excitement and curiosity. She couldn't help but feel drawn to Julian, and the more she thought about him, the more she wanted to know what he was thinking.

Lily pulled out her phone and opened the gallery, scrolling through her photos until she found the selfie she took with Julian. As she gazed at the picture, her cheeks flushed with a warm blush.

She couldn't help but smile at the way Julian's expression changed when she poked his cheek, and the way his eyes sparkled in the dim light. The photo captured a moment of genuine connection between them, and Lily felt her heart flutter as she looked at it.

She gazed at the picture for a long moment, her thoughts filled with happy memories of the previous night. The blush on her cheeks deepened as she thought about how natural it felt to be with Julian.

Julian stormed into the house, his face tense and his eyes flashing with anger. Lily, who was still sitting in the garden, looked up to see what was wrong.

"Julian, what's wrong?" she asked, concern etched on her face.

Julian's expression didn't soften as he approached her. "I don't want to talk about it," he said curtly, his voice low and rough.

Lily's instincts told her to give him space, but she couldn't help but feel a pang of worry. She had never seen Julian this angry before, and she wasn't sure how to react.

"Okay," she said softly, trying to calm him down. "Do you want to be alone?"

Julian's gaze flickered to hers, and for a moment, Lily thought she saw a glimmer of vulnerability behind his anger. But then his mask slipped back into place, and he turned away without answering.

Lily followed Julian to his room, her curiosity getting the better of her. She stood outside the door, hesitating for a moment before deciding to listen in on his conversation.

Julian was on the phone, his voice raised in anger. "I don't care what you think," he said, his tone firm and commanding. "I'll produce an heir when I'm ready, not because you're pressuring me."

Lily's eyes widened in surprise as she realized who Julian was talking to. She had heard rumors about Julian's family being traditional and expecting him to marry and have children, but she had never thought much of it.

"I understand that you're concerned about the family legacy, but this is my life, not yours," Julian continued, his voice still raised. "I'll make my own decisions, thank you very much."

Lily's eyes widened as she listened to Julian's conversation. She realized that he was arguing with his uncle, who seemed to be trying to manipulate Julian into producing an heir.

"I won't be blackmailed into marrying and having children just to secure your interests," Julian said, his voice firm and angry. "You're trying to use me to gain control of the company, and I won't let that happen."

Lily's admiration for Julian grew as she listened to him stand up to his uncle. She realized that Julian was not just a CEO, but a complex person with family dynamics and power struggles.

As Julian continued to argue with his uncle, Lily felt a sense of loyalty to him. She wanted to support him and help him navigate these challenges.

Let's get back to the story. Lily went to her room, still thinking about Julian's conversation with his uncle. She couldn't help but feel a sense of protectiveness towards Julian, knowing that he was dealing with family pressures and power struggles.

As she changed into a silky nightgown, Lily's mind wandered to Julian's strong personality and determination. She admired the way he stood up to his uncle, refusing to be manipulated.

Lily slipped into bed, her thoughts still occupied with Julian. She wondered what the future held for them, and whether Julian would ever open up to her about his family issues.

Lily's words hung in the air, and Julian's eyes narrowed slightly as he processed what she was suggesting. "Let's make an heir for you," she had said, her voice soft but determined. "We've been married now, and we haven't performed our marriage duties. I'm ready now."

Julian's gaze roamed over her face, searching for any sign of hesitation or uncertainty. But all he saw was a quiet resolve, and something else - a spark of desire that seemed to match his own.

Julian's eyes locked onto Lily's, his expression a mix of surprise and intrigue. "You're offering to make an heir just to help me with my uncle?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Lily's cheeks flushed slightly, but she met his gaze steadily. "I'm offering because we're married, and it's time we... consummate our marriage," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Julian's gaze held hers for a long moment, the air thick with tension. Then, without a word, he reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers grazing her skin.

The touch sent shivers down Lily's spine, and she felt her heart racing in anticipation.

Julian stood up from the bed, his expression unreadable. "I think it's time for you to leave," he said, his voice neutral, but with a hint of tension beneath the surface.

Lily felt a pang of surprise and disappointment. She had expected him to be taken aback by her suggestion, but she hadn't expected him to ask her to leave.

"Okay," she said softly, standing up and smoothing out her nightgown. She looked up at Julian, trying to read his expression, but he was already turning away from her.

"I'll see you in the morning," he said, his voice distant.

Lily nodded, feeling a little hurt, and turned to leave. As she reached the door, she hesitated, wondering if she should say something more. But Julian didn't look back, and she eventually slipped out of the room, leaving him alone.
