Chapter 20 - Marrying a demon

As Lily stormed out of the room, Sophia's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. "I guess I'll just have to entertain myself, Julian," she said, her voice dripping with sweetness.

Julian's expression remained neutral, but his eyes flickered with something unreadable. "Yes, please do, Sophia. Make yourself at home."

Meanwhile, Lily paced back and forth in their bedroom, her mind racing with emotions. How could Julian do this to her? How could he bring his mistress into their home and expect her to just sit back and watch? The thought made her blood boil.

She stopped pacing and stared at herself in the mirror. What was she supposed to do now? Was she just going to sit back and let Julian walk all over her? The answer was no. She was going to confront him, and she was going to make sure he knew how she felt.

With newfound determination, Lily turned and headed back to the dining room, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But as she entered the room, she was met with a sight that made her heart sink...

...Sophia was sitting on Julian's lap, her arms wrapped around his neck, and his hands were resting on her waist. The intimate pose seemed to scream of a deep familiarity, and Lily's anger turned to ice-cold fury.

"Well, well, well," Sophia said, looking up at Lily with a triumphant smile. "Looks like the little wife is back."

Lily's eyes locked onto Julian's, searching for some sign of remorse or apology. But all she saw was a blank expression, a mask that hid whatever emotions he might be feeling.

"Julian," Lily said, her voice low and even. "We need to talk."

Julian's expression didn't change, but he nodded slightly. "Yes, I suppose we do."

Sophia stood up, smoothing out her dress. "I'll leave you two lovebirds alone. For now."

As Sophia walked out of the room, Lily felt a sense of unease. What was going on here? And what did Julian plan to do about Sophia? The questions swirled in her mind, but she knew she had to confront Julian first.

"Julian, what's going on?" Lily asked, her voice firm. "Who is Sophia to you?"

Julian's expression still didn't change, but his voice was laced with a hint of warning. "Sophia is someone I care about, Lily. And our marriage... well, it's just a contract, as I said before."

Lily felt like she'd been punched in the gut. He left her? Just like that? After everything they'd been through, after all the promises and vows, he was just going to walk out on her?

She stood there, frozen in shock, as Julian turned and walked away. She heard the door close behind him, and then the sound of Sophia's laughter drifted from the hallway.

Lily's eyes stung with tears as she realized the truth. Julian didn't love her. He never had. And Sophia... Sophia was the one he truly cared about.

The pain was overwhelming, and Lily felt like she was drowning in it. She collapsed onto the floor, her body shaking with sobs. She'd given him everything, and he'd thrown it all away.

As she cried, Lily knew she had to pick herself up and move on. She couldn't stay here, in this house, with the memories of Julian and Sophia haunting her. She needed to find a way to heal, to rediscover herself and her worth.

But for now, she just let the tears flow, mourning the loss of her marriage, her love, and her heart.

Lily lay on her bed, her ears unwillingly absorbing the unpleasant noises coming from the CEO's room. The sounds seemed to echo through the halls, a painful reminder of Julian's infidelity and her own heartbreak. She felt like she was living in a nightmare, and the sounds were a constant reminder of her reality.

As she listened to the muffled laughter and whispers, Lily's mind began to wander. She thought about the early days of her marriage to Julian, when love and romance filled their lives. Now, it seemed like a distant memory, replaced by the harsh reality of her husband's infidelity.

The noises grew louder, and Lily's heart ached. She felt like she was losing herself, like she was disappearing piece by piece. She didn't know how much more she could take.

With a surge of determination, Lily sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She couldn't change the situation, but she could change how she reacted to it. She stood up, wiped away her tears, and took a deep breath.

Lily walked over to her closet and pulled out a suitcase. She began to pack her bags, her movements decisive and firm. She knew what she had to do. It was time to take control of her life and move on from this painful chapter.

The muffled moans and giggles seemed to reverberate through the halls.

As she packed, Lily's resolve hardened. She would not be a victim of circumstance. She would rise above the pain and emerge stronger, more resilient. The sounds from the CEO's room faded into the background as she focused on her newfound determination. She was ready to take on the world, one step at a time.

As Lily walked out of the mansion, her luggage in tow, the chauffeur approached her. "Ma'am, would you like me to drive you somewhere?" he asked, his tone polite.

Lily shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears. "No, thank you. I'll manage on my own."

The chauffeur nodded respectfully and stepped back, allowing her to pass. Meanwhile, Julian stood at the window of his office, watching the scene unfold. He saw Lily's determined stride, her luggage, and her refusal of the chauffeur's offer.

For a moment, Julian's expression faltered, and a flicker of concern crossed his face. But it was quickly replaced by his usual mask of indifference. He turned away from the window, his eyes drifting to Sophia, who was standing behind him, a sly smile spreading across her face.

"Looks like the little wife is leaving," Sophia said, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "You're finally free to do as you please, Julian."

Julian's response was noncommittal, but Sophia's words seemed to linger in the air, a reminder of the complicated web of relationships that had been woven in the mansion.
