Chapter 158 - Chapter 158: We’re Good Friends

Afternoon.

With no tutoring duties, Su Yu decided to increase his physical activity.

He played tennis with Totsuka Saika for over half an hour.

Then, he sparred with Hikigaya Hachiman for a while.

In terms of both skill and stamina, Su Yu completely outclassed them.

As the three rested on the benches, Hikigaya Hachiman gave Su Yu a look.

"When did your stamina get this good? I remember you weren't like this before."

"Actually, Hikigaya-kun, I've been training in ancient martial arts since I was a child. I just hadn't mastered the basics before, but now, I've finally entered the beginner's stage," Su Yu said with a completely serious expression.

Hikigaya Hachiman's forehead twitched as he stared at Su Yu, speechless.

Totsuka Saika, on the other hand, chuckled. He figured Su Yu must have been training hard to see such results.

There was no way martial arts manuals actually existed, after all.

"Su Yu-kun, you're not tutoring Yuigahama-san and the others anymore?" Totsuka Saika checked the time, sounding curious.

"Shizuka-sensei is helping them. That gives me some free time to do my own things," Su Yu replied.

"So, your top ranking is thanks to your club president?" Hikigaya Hachiman asked.

"Yeah, all thanks to Little Yukino's notes." Su Yu didn't hide it.

"Su Yu-kun and Yukinoshita-san…" Totsuka Saika hesitated.

"In the future, I'll marry Little Yukino," Su Yu said, his gaze drifting into the distance.

Totsuka Saika and Hikigaya Hachiman were both surprised.

They wanted to ask—what about Yuigahama Yui?—but they couldn't bring themselves to.

"Don't ask what will happen to Yui. We've already figured it out. I won't abandon her," Su Yu said as he stood up.

Both of them looked stunned.

They only processed his words after he had walked away.

"Hachiman, do you think Su Yu-kun…"

"He must've discussed it with them already. There is a way to make both of them happy," Hikigaya Hachiman mused.

"What way?" Totsuka Saika asked, puzzled.

"Marriage… then divorce." Hikigaya Hachiman answered.

Totsuka Saika's eyes widened as he instantly understood.

It was a solution, but… would Yukinoshita's family accept it?

"Don't overthink it. That guy is smart," Hikigaya Hachiman reminded.

"Hachiman, you better not follow Su Yu-kun's example. If you find a girlfriend, make sure you treasure her," Totsuka Saika said with a smile.

Hikigaya Hachiman glanced at him but remained silent.

Sakura Dormitory.

When Su Yu returned, the four girls were busy with their tutoring session.

Hiratsuka Shizuka glanced at him but said nothing.

Su Yu's academic ability was beyond question at this point.

"Yui, don't forget dinner," Su Yu whispered in Yuigahama Yui's ear.

"Mmm." She nodded.

Before leaving, Su Yu glanced at Hiratsuka Shizuka and quickly stole a kiss on Yuigahama Yui's cheek.

Caught off guard, Yuigahama Yui's face turned red as she lowered her head shyly.

Su Yu patted her head before heading upstairs.

Yuigahama Yui sneaked a glance at Hiratsuka Shizuka, relieved to see that she hadn't noticed.

Then, she turned to Miura Yumiko, who was focused on her book and seemingly unaware of what had just happened.

After a moment of thought, Yuigahama Yui scribbled something on a small piece of paper and passed it to Miura Yumiko.

Miura Yumiko read the note, her face turning slightly red as she looked at Yuigahama Yui.

Yuigahama Yui gave her a smile and an encouraging look.

Blushing, Miura Yumiko nodded, as if agreeing to something.

"You two, focus on studying."

Hiratsuka Shizuka's voice suddenly rang out.

Both girls quickly snapped back to their books.

By the way, Yuigahama Yui had managed to pass this time's exams.

Miura Yumiko ranked somewhere in the middle.

Ebina Hina and Kawasaki Saki both placed in the top twenty of their class—above average.

After the Tutoring Session.

Miura Yumiko and Ebina Hina entered the Kawasaki family's kitchen.

Kawasaki Saki had left tutoring an hour early and was already at Future Manga Publishing.

Technically, neither she nor Ebina Hina needed tutoring, but for various reasons, they still chose to participate in Hiratsuka Shizuka's sessions.

Kawasaki Household Kitchen.

"Alright, Yumiko, leave the rest to me," Ebina Hina said once the ingredients were all prepped.

"I… I can help," Miura Yumiko muttered hesitantly.

"I saw the note Yui wrote," Ebina Hina said with a smile. "And I also saw Su Yu-kun kiss her. If you don't want this chance, then forget it."

"I…" Miura Yumiko's face flushed red.

Ebina Hina simply watched her, saying nothing.

Miura Yumiko felt shy and lowered her head.

After a long moment, she finally looked up at Ebina Hina.

"…Hina, thank you."

"No need to thank me. We're good friends."

Ebina Hina's voice was gentle.

Miura Yumiko nodded, then turned and left the kitchen.

Ebina Hina watched her go before turning her focus back to preparing dinner.

Outside the Kawasaki Residence.

As Miura Yumiko stepped outside, she saw Hiratsuka Shizuka and Kawasaki Keika in the yard.

Both of them turned toward her when they heard the door open.

"Shizuka-sensei…" Miura Yumiko felt nervous, afraid that her thoughts had been seen through.

"Go check on Yuigahama Yui. Her cooking skills don't seem great," Hiratsuka Shizuka said flatly.

"Okay!" Miura Yumiko responded happily and hurried upstairs.

Hiratsuka Shizuka watched her leave, fully aware of her real intentions.

But she didn't stop her.

She had already come to terms with it—there was no point in stopping what couldn't be changed.

Su Yu's Apartment.

A few minutes later, Miura Yumiko stood in front of Su Yu's door.

She raised her small hand and knocked.

Soon, Yuigahama Yui opened the door.

She smiled at Miura Yumiko without saying anything.

Miura Yumiko entered, changed into indoor slippers, and glanced at Su Yu's bedroom door before turning to look at the kitchen.

"Yui, need any help?"

"Nope! I'm doing this myself!"

Yuigahama Yui rejected her offer.

Seeing that, Miura Yumiko walked up to Su Yu's bedroom door.

Just as she was about to knock—

The door opened.

Su Yu stood there, unsurprised.

Miura Yumiko, on the other hand, blushed and lowered her head.

"Come in and help me draw the backgrounds," Su Yu said.

As he spoke, he glanced over at Yuigahama Yui, who was focused entirely on cooking.

Miura Yumiko stepped into the room.

Su Yu closed the door behind her.

The moment the door shut—

He pulled her into his arms.

"Su Yu-kun, what kind of backgrounds do you need me to draw?"

Miura Yumiko's face turned crimson, but she still remembered what Su Yu had just said.

"I already finished drawing, Yumiko." Su Yu reminded her.

Miura Yumiko froze for a moment.

Then, as if realizing his true meaning, she shyly lowered her head.

"Yumiko, look at me."

"Mm…"
