Kawasaki Saki's Missing Wallet
If she had a choice, Kawasaki Saki definitely wouldn't ask Su Yu for help.
But—
The wallet she lost had 50,000 yen inside.
For her, that was a lot of money.
"Big Sis, are they your friends?"
Kawasaki's younger sister tilted her head, looking up at Yui and Su Yu.
Yuigahama Yui smiled gently.
"Yup! Is there something we can help with?"
"Big Sis lost her wallet." The little girl whispered, sneaking a glance at Kawasaki.
Yui turned to Su Yu.
"…Kawasaki-san, are you sure you still had your wallet when you entered the amusement park?"
Kawasaki's expression darkened as she looked at him coldly.
But then—
Yui spoke up in a soft voice.
"Kawasaki-san, Su Yu-kun is really good at these things. He might be able to help you find it."
Kawasaki's younger sister tugged on her sleeve.
"Big Sis…"
Kawasaki took a deep breath, realizing her attitude was too harsh.
"…I'm sure I still had it when we came in."
Su Yu nodded.
"Where have you been? Where did you last use your wallet? And when did you first notice it was missing?"
"…I don't think I lost it while on any of the rides. I've been to a lot of places. But I only realized it was missing when I went to buy drinks."
"Which places exactly?"
"Restaurants, restrooms, the gift shop… we stopped by a lot of places."
"The restaurant can probably be ruled out since you paid before leaving."
Kawasaki frowned slightly but nodded.
"You didn't buy anything at the gift shop? Just browsed?"
"Yeah."
That confirmed Su Yu's suspicion.
He turned to Yui.
"Yui, go ask the amusement park staff where lost items are usually kept."
"Got it!" Yui smiled before hurrying off.
Then—
Su Yu turned to Kawasaki.
"Let's check the gift shop."
"…Thanks." Kawasaki muttered quietly.
Su Yu pretended not to hear her.
Kawasaki's little sister glanced between them—
For some reason, she felt like they were acting like exes who ran into each other after a breakup.
At the Gift Shop
The store was empty except for a single bored employee at the counter.
Su Yu approached her.
"Hello."
The girl snapped out of her daze and blinked in surprise at the handsome customer.
"Ah! H-Hello! How can I help you?"
"My friend lost something. She stopped by this shop earlier, so we wanted to check if she might've dropped it here."
The employee finally noticed Kawasaki and her little sister standing behind Su Yu.
The moment her gaze landed on the kid—
Her expression visibly stiffened.
Su Yu immediately caught that reaction.
He glanced at Kawasaki.
"Wait outside."
Kawasaki hesitated for a moment but ultimately nodded.
She took her sister's hand and left the store.
Once they were gone, Su Yu turned back to the shop girl.
"My friend lost her wallet. It has a lot of money inside—money she desperately needs."
The girl bit her lip, looking away.
"She works eight hours a day, every weekday. It's already affecting her health. She might not have much time left, which is why she brought her sister here today."
The employee's face paled as guilt flickered in her eyes.
Su Yu didn't press her, simply waiting in silence.
A few seconds later—
"…I-I'm sorry."
She hurriedly pulled a wallet out of her pocket and placed it on the counter.
Su Yu smiled gently.
"It's okay. I'll just tell her you were keeping it safe for her."
The girl visibly relaxed.
"…Thank you."
Su Yu took the wallet and turned to leave.
As he walked away, the shop girl couldn't help but watch his back until he disappeared out the door.
Returning the Wallet
Outside the shop, Su Yu handed the wallet back to Kawasaki.
She immediately checked inside—
Everything was still there.
A rare smile appeared on her face.
But—
She quickly wiped it away and turned to Su Yu.
"I wasn't lying about my job."
Su Yu stayed quiet, letting her continue.
"That night… the woman you were with… she was Yukinoshita Yukino's older sister. She knew we were classmates. I'm sure she did that on purpose."
Kawasaki's voice was laced with distrust.
Su Yu wasn't surprised.
"…You don't have to believe me. But if you push yourself too hard, your family will worry."
Kawasaki stared at him for a moment.
Then—
"…Thanks for the reminder."
She didn't fully believe him.
But thinking back to that night…
His clothes were perfectly neat.
And the time he spent inside that private room was too short.
…Maybe he really didn't do anything.
Su Yu pulled out his phone.
"Wanna exchange contacts?"
Kawasaki hesitated.
"…No thanks."
Su Yu shrugged.
"Alright. If you're interested in that job, talk to Hiratsuka-sensei. She'll bring you to my apartment."
With that, he dialed Yui's number and walked away.
Kawasaki watched his retreating figure, her expression complicated.
"Big Sis, Big Brother is a good person."
Her little sister whispered.
"…You're too young to understand."
Kawasaki sighed.
She wanted to believe Su Yu wasn't as bad as she first thought—
But just one good deed wasn't enough to erase her doubts.
A Sweet Moment with Yui
When Su Yu found Yui, she was holding two ice cream cones.
Seeing him approach, she smiled and handed one to him.
Su Yu took it and sat down beside her.
As they ate, Yui spoke up.
"Su Yu-kun, do you know Kawasaki-san?"
Su Yu casually replied, "We've met once."
"…She seems to really dislike you." Yui shot him a suspicious look.
Su Yu smirked.
"You think she's my ex-girlfriend?"
Yui blushed.
"N-No! I was just… curious."
Su Yu chuckled.
"Kawasaki saw Yukinoshita Haruno clinging to my arm. And she knows you're my—"
He abruptly stopped mid-sentence.
Yui's heart skipped a beat.
Her cheeks turned red.
"I'm your what, Su Yu-kun?"
She gazed at him, full of expectation.
But—
Su Yu ignored her, quietly eating his ice cream.
Yui pouted.
She wanted to push him for an answer—
But ultimately gave up.
Once they finished, Su Yu stood up and turned toward a slow-moving Ferris wheel.
He held out his hand.
Yui smiled and took it—
Pressing her entire body against his arm.
Su Yu felt a soft yet noticeable pressure.
"I don't have anything going on with Yukinoshita Haruno," he said suddenly. "I have zero interest in fake smiles."
Yui beamed.
"I know, Su Yu-kun."
