Seraphina's POV
I had no plan but fear and fury hitting against my chest as I quickly ran barefoot down the east hallway, trying to overtake the group of snarling wolves closing in on me.
"She's heading for the servant wings!" A door was pushed open behind me, several screams and echoes could be heard as someone yelled very loudly.
They are just everywhere, no way to work my way out from here. Then I remembered a tunnel.
The one Lily had talked about during dinner a time like that, the old escape route under the east wing, hidden behind the laundry room. It had not been used in so many years, it was sealed after a Luna who tried to flee from her forced mating. But I was desperate and desperation was really louder than fear.
I quickly turned a sharp corner, nearly fallen on the marble floors, and ran into the corridor lined with linen carts. My lungs burned and my souls were raw and bleeding.
