The next day was Monday, the start of a new week, and Leyton was greatly looking forward to today's Tarot Club meeting. Rosago had already delivered his head, so this Tarot Club meeting would be when he could finally see Klein's alternate persona, Mr. World.
At three in the afternoon, a crimson tide of light surged forth punctually, gradually engulfing his vision.
When his vision returned, the scene before Leyton had transformed into the palace above the Gray Fog, resembling a giant's dwelling.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool. Good afternoon, Mr. Tower."
Audrey cheerfully greeted every member of the Tarot Club until her gaze fell upon the figure seated at the very end of the bronze long table, cloaked in a black hooded robe. This figure was also illusory and hazy.
Audrey cast a look of both curiosity and delight towards Mr. Fool, who was seated at the head of the bronze long table.
She hadn't expected a new member to join so quickly; only two weeks had passed since Mr. Tower joined.
This indicates that our Tarot Club is rapidly growing and strengthening! Audrey, you will also be a veteran of the Tarot Club in the future.
Amidst Audrey's swirling thoughts, before she could even inquire about the new member's codename, Mr. Fool, seated at the head, spoke:
"This is our new member, Mr. World."
Leyton curiously observed Mr. Fool's alternate persona, a faint purple glow flickering in his eyes.
"I can't discern too much, but it feels a bit fake, like a Puppet on strings. Klein probably isn't capable of dual-threaded operation yet, otherwise, Mr. World's movements wouldn't be so stiff."
"However, apart from someone like me who already knows World is an alternate persona, they wouldn't dare to think in that direction."
After his thoughts had been active for a while, Leyton lowered his gaze again, refraining from observing more, and at the same time greeted the new member:
"Good afternoon, Mr. World."
"If you have any Beyonder Characteristics you need to sell, you can consider me. As a friend, I will give you a friendly price!"
"Good afternoon! I will."
Under Mr. Fool's manipulation, the alternate persona World responded in a hoarse, flat voice.
Seated at the head, shrouded in Gray Fog, Klein looked at Mr. Tower, who was greeting his alternate persona, with a slight hesitation. He suspected the other party was testing him.
Is he suspecting that the alternate persona World is Klein Moretti?
Why? Is it because of the codename World, or because I arranged World's seat at the very bottom of the bronze long table?
Audrey on the side had been curiously observing the new member. She felt that the other party consistently appeared very calm and rational, and she couldn't glean any information from Mr. World.
"Good afternoon, Mr. World."
Audrey politely greeted the other party.
The Hanged Man and Little Sun also greeted the new member World afterwards, and only then did today's Tarot Club meeting officially begin.
Klein, The Fool, seated at the head, turned his gaze to Audrey beside him and said:
"The two candidates you proposed are still under consideration."
He then assigned Miss Justice an investigation task, asking her to relay it to the two candidates she had proposed.
Then, manipulating his alternate persona, Mr. World looked around and spoke in a hoarse voice:
"Mr. Fool told me that I can issue tasks and collect materials here, is that right?"
"Yes, as long as you can pay a sufficient price, even if we can't do it, there's still Mr. Fool and His Blessed!"
Leyton responded, his tone not particularly serious.
"Gentlemen, it's now time for Mr. Fool's reading."
Justice Audrey spoke up, reminding the two who were tending to chat further.
"Miss Justice truly has a great sense of ownership." Klein sighed inwardly, then turned his gaze to Mr. Hanged Man, who was seated opposite Miss Justice.
Mr. Hanged Man, who had been observing silently due to the new member, quickly saluted upon seeing Mr. Fool's gaze.
He then focused his mind, recalled the diary content he had memorized, and with Mr. Fool's help, materialized it.
These diary pages vanished abruptly, then reappeared in Klein's hand.
Leyton didn't glimpse the content of this diary, but judging by the time Klein spent reading, the effective content of this diary should be considerable.
Having read all the diary entries, Klein composed himself slightly and looked towards Leyton, who was to his side, saying:
"Mr. Tower, you have completed the assassination mission in Backlund. Your remuneration will be paid to you in batches by my Blessed over the coming period."
Still at sea, where news doesn't travel so quickly, the Hanged Man turned his head to look at Leyton, quite shocked, but due to Little Sun's tall stature, who was seated between the two, the Hanged Man couldn't observe Leyton's specific situation.
He could only be slightly shocked by Mr. Tower's strength in his heart.
"He is at least Sequence 6, and more likely Sequence 5, otherwise it would be impossible for him to successfully assassinate an ambassador and retreat in such a short time."
Seeing the scene quiet down, Klein resumed manipulating his alternate persona World.
"Cough! Can I speak now?"
Without waiting for a response, Klein continued to manipulate World, speaking on his own:
"I wish to obtain the True roots of a Mist Tree Person, at least 60 milliliters of its corresponding sap, the medullary crystal of an Elf Spring, and all the spinal fluid of an Evil-Patterned Black Panther."
"What do you wish me to exchange for these items?"
Leyton was slightly puzzled. He remembered that the Magician's formula did not include the medullary crystal of an Elf Spring; this should be a Apothecary Pathway material.
"Very cautious, indeed. Actually, there's no need to be so guarded. There are too few Beyonders of the Seer Pathway, most people can't even tell what these materials are for!"
Leyton commented inwardly, but he didn't respond. He himself didn't have any channels for Beyonder materials outside of the Church.
Ultimately, it was Little Sun, who was in the City of Silver with its many monsters, who accepted the commission for the Mist Tree Person materials, hoping to receive a suitable weapon as compensation.
"The Psychiatrist potion formula, and corresponding Beyonder materials."
"The Sailor Pathway Sequence 6 Wind-Blessed potion formula."
Then Miss Justice and the Hanged Man also stated what they needed, if a transaction could be reached.
"Alright."
World replied in a low voice, then continued:
"I have another commission."
"I wish to obtain all information on the fallen nobles of the Loen Kingdom, the more detailed the better."
Miss Justice, being a Loen noble, paused, then cautiously probed:
"What do you intend to do?"
World, under Klein's manipulation, laughed hoarsely:
"You don't need to worry. I am merely looking for something and will not cause them any harm. For this, you can ask Mr. Fool to be a witness."
Audrey couldn't glean much from a Puppet, so she could only rely on her own judgment and thoughts to respond:
"I know some information about fallen nobles, but it's not detailed enough. I need some time to complete it and give it to you before the next Tarot Club meeting, is that acceptable?"
"No problem."
World responded in a low voice, then spoke again:
"What kind of remuneration do you wish to obtain?"
"What I can offer in exchange are: some Concealment histories of the Fourth Epoch, knowledge regarding certain Beyonder Pathways, and some potion formulas."
"However, this needs to be equivalent to the value of the information on those fallen nobles, or you can also propose other requests."
After careful consideration, Audrey chose to communicate with Mr. World privately.
Leyton, who was always excluded by private communication, felt quite disappointed. He couldn't even be a quiet spectator.
Leyton then turned his gaze to the Hanged Man, who was also excluded by the private communication, and chuckled softly, saying:
"Mr. Hanged Man, I know the main ingredient for the Wind-Blessed potion and its corresponding acting principles. I wonder if you have a need for it?"
Hanged Man Alger hesitated:
"Only the main ingredient?"
"Only the main ingredient, but if you can pay a sufficient price, I can also help you inquire about the complete potion formula."
Leyton nodded and replied.
As for the complete potion formula, Leyton believed that both Mr. Hughes and Queen Mystic Bernadette should know it.
The former is an angel of a similar Pathway, and the latter even keeps the Obninsk Sea Monster, which is required for the Ocean Songster advancement ritual, in captivity, clearly demonstrating her mastery of parts of the Sailor Pathway's potion formulas.
Leyton felt that the four Pirate Kings on the sea more or less had some mastery over the Sailor Pathway, after all, the ancient name for a Sailor was "Keeper of the Seas," and those who frequented the sea would certainly cultivate Sailors under their command.
Hanged Man Alger paused, hearing the other party's response, he seemed very confident in obtaining the Wind-Blessed potion formula.
After a moment of thought, he asked:
"If I need the complete potion formula, what kind of price would I have to pay?"
"That depends on what the other party wants. I can help you inquire, but are you sure you want to obtain the Wind-Blessed formula from me? I cannot determine the other party's conditions."
Leyton reminded the Hanged Man.
"Can you first help me inquire about the other party's conditions, and then I'll consider whether to trade?"
"Regardless of whether the transaction is successful, I will pay you a reward."
The Hanged Man quickly made his decision.
"Alright." Leyton nodded. Another small income.
