"Well shit." Ezekiel was stunned as he looked at the werewolf before him. 'How the fuck does this guy have a second stage? Is he a boss or something?'
(Ezekiel, focus!) Laura scolded the teenager while taking control of his suit to force him into a retreat. (Your suit's durability is down to 600, and seeing as this guy got stronger it probably won't last long. Not to mention your body is on the verge of collapse. Is this the time to joke?)
"What? It's just really surprising." He took back control of the suit and met up with his friends. "Vahn."
The latter nodded, sending a stream of mana into Ezekiel's body and relieving him of the internal injuries that his action had brought about. Unfortunately, not everything could be taken care of. They still had a monster to fight after all, Vahn couldn't really use up too much of his mana.
"But seriously though, this is really new. Are they demi-humans on Taia?" The mechanic stared warily at Hurricane's werewolf body knowing the full implication of their current situation. The masked man was now both a Mage and Brawler.
"What's a demi-human?" Vahn hadn't even heard of that word before. It sounded really weird in their language.
"Doesn't matter anyways. We'll deal with it later, let's just focus on taking these guys down." Ezekiel replaced the Kinetic Shortsword in his left hand with the Thermal counterpart and readied himself.
But seeing his actions, the werewolf simply revealed a grin before stepping forward and taking off at a blurred speed. Ezekiel could barely react when Hurricane appeared at his side and clawed down at him.
Yuri quickly reacted, blowing up all the hidden death mana she had hidden within the man's body, causing him to pause his actions while a flicker of pain appeared on his face. This gave Laura the time she needed, the Battlesuit ejected Psionic energy while the thrusters turned to the left, pushing the shocked boy to the opposite direction.
"Ezekiel!" Vahn quickly appeared where the mechanic landed, using up more of his mana to heal his friend more.
"I'm fine." Ezekiel grit his teeth as he rose his hand to stop him. The fear of death at that moment had been extremely thick, the mechanic felt ashamed that he had actually almost given up on fighting just by looking at the descending claw that almost tore him apart. 'Fuck. In the end, I'm still not mentally ready for death battles.'
(It comes with experience, don't beat yourself down too much.) Laura consoled.
"We'll flank him. Yuri cast a debuff on him as much as you can and use the rifle." Ezekiel shook away the dizziness caused by Laura's actions and jumped forward. The thrusters at his back roared as they released an amethyst energy that pushed him forward with a shocking speed, allowing him to quickly appear at Hurricane's back.
The werewolf shifted aiming to attack the figure behind him but was stopped by an energy bullet that tore into his flesh. He growled and commanded his mana, creating a large wind spear to attack the source of the bullet.
Yuri promptly deactivated her suit's hover function while the flaps located at her back shifted while her thrusters erupted with more energy. A cluster of gray mana appeared around her and constructed a barrier that delayed the wind spear long enough for her to dodge. She then summoned another cluster that let out a deathly aura before latching onto the werewolf, causing him to feel weakened all of a sudden.
Hurricane frowned, wishing to assume manual control of the airborne spell but was interrupted by the appearance of Vahn and Ezekiel. Vahn readied his fist while the tiny fan-like motors located within the protected areas of his arm piece began whirring, indicating the activation of his Kinetic Motor Module. "Raging Cyclone, Boosted version: Dragon Claw." His fingers assumed a claw form before sweeping at the air in front of him, manifesting 5 claw shaped mana projectiles that were further strengthened by the sudden infusion of energy that left the tip of his fingers.
The werewolf was about to set up a shield before him when Ezekiel suddenly burst with an even faster speed, his two short swords brandished as he swiftly approached him. This caused Hurricane to change his spell, opting for the weaker Wind Barrier that granted an omnidirectional protection instead the stronger one directional shield.
Seeing this, the thrusters erupted with more power as the mechanic passed by Hurricane's guarded back and appeared at his front before the thruster position changed, shifting to the right while the familiar motor whirring sound occurred. Ezekiel then transformed into a human tornado as he slashed multiple times at the barrier, reducing the mana infused into it. Yuri's death bullets also struck against the exact area, their mana siphoning attribute working fast to drain more of its power.
Seeing this, Hurricane panicked, he moved back hoping to withdraw but Vahn's attack had already arrived. The five claws tore through the severely weakened barrier and struck at the werewolf digging deep into his skin, infusing it with life mana before suddenly erupting and worsening the injury even more, taking away a good chunk of Hurricane's chest, to the point where a part of his ribs could be seen.
He roared in pain, swinging his arms wildly at Ezekiel's close figure but the thrusters at the latter's calves and soles ejected Psionic energy, pushing him up into the air to dodge the attempted maiming of the former.
"He's almost down! Disengage Tempest, equip Hercules." His Battlesuit suddenly disassembled while he was in the air, before disappearing into his Dimensional ring. Another new Battlesuit then appeared before him, possessing the same design as the last one except its build suggested a more close ranged attack style, with bulky arms and less defined thrusters attached to it.
The Hercules suit opened up to allow Ezekiel fall into the pod before closing up, letting out whirring sounds as it fastened multiple bolts and compartments before powering up with a shocking start-up speed, owing to his Quick Equip talent. "Vahn, Yuri. Send him up."
The two nodded before Yuri increased the influx of her mana into the pistols in her hands. "Death Spears." The bullets that left the guns stretched out and condensed further to reveal a sharpened gray spear that tore at Hurricane's weakly created shield and pierced into his hard skin.
The werewolf cursed inwardly. He was in far too much pain to stabilize his mental strength and the control over his mana, leading to his half-baked spells. He let his enforced skin deal with the attacks while he focused on temporarily sealing his wounds. Only after doing this could he properly focus on the fight once more.
Unfortunately his enemies wouldn't wait for him to do that.
"Raging Cyclone: Dragon Punch." Vahn rushed up to him, amethyst energy exiting the thruster at his elbow like a jet engine before he unleashed an uppercut that punched through another shield, sending the werewolf into the air. His suit issued a blaring warning at him through the heads up display function, a warning that the Psionic energy reserves of the suit had gone too low but he simply ignored it and instead poured in his mana into the MCR located at his spine, charging it back up before making use of the Kinetic Motor Module once more. "Raging Cyclone, Boosted version: Dragon's Breath!"
All the energy and mana in his body compressed to the very limit at his fists before suddenly combusting in a linear manner, exploding in an azure line of energy that blasted towards the airborne Hurricane, worsening his wound and sending him even higher into the sky.
Where the descending Ezekiel approached him with breakneck falling speed.
The thrusters at his back were at full power as his speed threatened to tear his Suit's frontal region apart. Still, the mechanic tensed his muscles to deal against the pressure building up on his body while he punched downward with his gauntlets, their surface revealing multiple discs rotating before they suddenly smashed back into place, allowing a weird layer of translucent energy coat his gauntlets. "Heavy Fist Technique: Meteor's Descent!"
Before the poor werewolf could figure out what was happening, Ezekiel smashed into him, sending both their figures smashing into the ground thoroughly shattering a layer of it and enveloping the surrounding with a dust cloud.
