Chapter 7 - Ashfall

"WHO the hell do you think you are!? I'll crush you alongside that sword!" threatened Beast.

He raised his hand back up and started stomping on everything like it's a game of whack-a-mole.

Yet, the cloaked boy jumped around and blocked it every single time.

He then slashed his sword in the air.

Fire shot out and hit the Beast's fist.

"Fur is flammable," said the boy as the Beast's fist burst into flames.

He desperately smacked his hand on the ground, just so he could put out the fire.

"I didn't think he was real! Some said he was a myth made up by the government to scare criminals, but he's right in front of me!" said one of the soldiers excitedly.

"Huh? You know who he is?" asked another soldier.

"Yeah I do! He's very famous in Aurumia. The people call him the Flame. He's a cloaked boy with a flaming sword, and a will to fight injustice. Nobody knows who he really is, but everyone loves him!" answered the soldier.

The Beast had now successfully put out the fire.

"You're not the first monster I've slain," said the Flame as he lunged straight at the Beast's head with his sword; hoping to end him.

The Beast cut his momentum short as he punched him mid-air, and slammed him into the ground.

His sword fell out of reach, leaving him unarmed.

The Beast stepped on his sword, hoping to destroy it.

"Ember, I summon you," said Flame in a faint voice.

His sword, the Ember, disappeared from under the Beast's foot and reappeared in his hand.

"You think you're smart? Die weakling," said the Beast as he stepped on top of Flame, who was lying on the ground.

I'm injured. I need to give this everything I've got, he thought to himself as he stabbed the Beast in his foot and escaped from under it.

Some of my bones are fractured, I need to do this quickly, he thought to himself.

He hit the Ember on the ground with all of his strength, causing an explosion of fire trapping both him and the Beast in it.

Smoke filled the air, but once it cleared Flame was passed out on the ground, near the Ember.

The Beast was on fire, but he quickly put it out by patting himself on his entire body.

Atop a building's rooftop stood King Midas, staring at all the chaos.

The boy's good, but I will need to step in now, thought King Midas.

Suddenly, he got a call from an unknown number.

He picked it up.

"Hello? Who is this?" he asked.

"Hey Midas! It's me Harry," he heard.

"You think you can call me like this after what you pulled? How did you even get my number-" King Midas was cut off by Harry.

"That's irrelevant right now. Listen to me. I have a plan to take down the Beast, but I'll need you to cooperate," said Harry.

"I'm listening," continued King Midas.

The Beast now looked straight at Flame.

"I'll kill that little brat!" he said out loud as he charged straight at Flame to crush him.

"No you won't!" he heard a voice above him.

A huge wooden robot, almost as big as the Beast, had jumped from the top of a building towards the Beast.

It was a huge sphere, with someone sitting inside of it.

It had wooden legs at the bottom, and wooden arms at its sides.

On its bottom half, "H-MECH 001" was carved in bold letters.

It jumped on top of the Beast, making him fall on his back.

The bottom half and back of the sphere was wooden, while the top front was made of glass.

The cockpit and the pilot were easily visible through the glass.

Harry was piloting the H-Mech.

The cockpit was mostly made up of levers and pulleys, allowing manual control of each part of the H-Mech.

"Hey Ben," taunted Harry with a smirk. "Missed me?"

The Beast stood up from the ground and came charging at the H-Mech.

"Look at you trying to play the hero, Harry. Did you forget that you're the one that caused this? People who get in my way don't live very long," said the Beast.

The moment he came close to the H-Mech, Harry pulled a pulley on the right side of the cockpit which made the H-Mech punch with its right arm.

The Beast caught that punch and yanked out the arm.

"No! I worked so hard on this," exclaimed Harry.

The Beast then pulled out the other arm and climbed on top of the H-Mech.

He punched through the glass and reached his claws out to grab Harry.

I'm so dead if Midas can't pull it off this time, Harry thought to himself as he screamed, "Do it now, MIDAS!"

King Midas leaped from the top of the building onto the back of the Beast.

He had a huge golden dagger the size of a sword in his hand, and stabbed it deep into the Beast's right shoulder.

He snapped his finger and the Beast started transmuting to gold.

This time it was deep enough, for his internal body to turn to gold too, he thought to himself.

As his arm was turning to gold, he picked up Harry and was about to crush him.

Flame, who had woken up a little while ago, saw the situation and rushed to Harry's aid.

He jumped up to Beast's arm.

His sword burst in flames, and melted straight through the Beast's golden shoulder.

All the soldiers watched in horror as his arm fell to the ground, releasing Harry.

Fortunately for the Beast, his wound was sealed off because of the gold.

He had now fully transmuted.

There was silence on the battlefield.

Everybody knew they had won.

The fight was over.

The crowd burst into cheers, and so did Harry.

"We can't celebrate until he's fully caught. Chain him up, men!" King Midas commanded the soldiers.

They hurriedly chained up the Beast, and breathed a sigh of relief.

They put the Beast's golden statue in a private container and started transporting him.

The container was black and the had a red DNA strand printed on its side with the name "Helix Foundation" written under it.

"Why do you think they're sending the Beast away to this private company instead of a high security prison?" one of the soldiers asked.

"No idea man. I think the government struck a deal with them to let Helix Foundation research his body or something," replied another.

"Now, arrest Harry and put him in my helicopter. Escort the other boy in there too," continued King Midas.

When the soldiers tried to handcuff Harry, he started fighting back with a Beast Blaster he had hidden in his clothes, and because of that, King Midas had to transmute him to gold.

After which, Harry's golden statue was chained up and put in the Gold Eagle.

Flame was also sitting there, but instead of being chained up, he was respectfully escorted in there.

King Midas snapped his finger and turned Harry back to normal.

He tried to escape but noticed that he was chained up.

"What's the meaning of this?! I risked my life to help you... and this is how you repay me? And why doesn't the other guy get chained up too?" Harry asked furiously.

"You are both being taken for interrogation. After all, you and the Beast seemed to know each other quite well," answered King Midas.
