"Where... is my SON?!" yelled the intruder, who had caused code yellow, from the far end of the corridor.
Three armed guards arrived from the other end.
"Shoot him down," said one of them.
They started firing at the man across the corridor.
"Crap, we're out of bullets," said one of the guards.
"Die," said the man across the corridor as he threw a grenade towards the guards.
When it exploded, the corridor was engulfed in smoke and full of destruction.
The grenade also fried the circuit boards of the cell locks, opening each one that was in the blast radius.
The man had left the corridor now.
"Hey Kaido, let's go. Freedom awaits us!" said Ricky as he dragged Kaito out of his cell by his arm.
"Stop dragging me," said Kaito pushing away from Ricky.
They ran through the corridor and reached a bunch of stairs.
They went downstairs, only to be confronted by two guards.
"Go back to your cells, experiments. I don't wanna remind you again," said one of the guards.
They all pointed their guns at them.
"Know how to fight, Kaido?" asked Ricky.
"Sure I do. With a sword of course," answered Kaito.
Ricky quickly pulled off a pipe from the ceiling and handed it over to Kaito.
"Lets kill them all," he said in excitement.
A guard shot Ricky.
The bullet went straight through his chest.
H-He got shot, thought Kaito as he froze in fear. He's gonna die now, and I can't save him.
"Worry not my friend! I'm here to save the day," said Ricky as he pointed his palm at the guard who shot him.
The guard started screaming in pain.
His skin turned dark, like he was burning.
After some moments, he fell to the ground, dead.
Ricky then proceeded to do the same thing to all the other guards, killing them.
On the other hand Ricky seemed totally fine.
Kaito looked at Ricky's wound, and was shocked by what he saw.
The bullet had tore through his rubber clothes, but his body was totally fine.
"W-What did you do to them, Ricky!?" asked Kaito.
"I fried them from the inside out!" laughed Ricky. "How? I'll tell you next time," he winked.
"Don't you think that instead of wasting your time killing them, we should just go to the main room or the power station?
From there we could get access to the entire building, and potentially find an exit," suggested Kaito.
"Yeah we can do that or whatever. But you wanna know what I was really thinking? I think I should sharpen your pipe a bit, to make it more sword-y," chuckled Ricky snatching the pipe away from his hand while walking down another flight of stairs.
He ran his fingers through the tip of the pipe and wherever he touched, the metal melted. He carved the tip in a sharp point.
"A makeshift sword tipped with radiation, coming right up," he said as he threw the pole back to Kaito.
"Radiation? What do you mean by that?" he asked.
"Well, me and my powers are radioactive. Tell me that isn't cool!" answered Ricky as his eyes glistened with joy.
"Yeah, it's cool I guess," he replied.
They had now walked two stories down and yet the stairs seemed never-ending.
I wonder what their obsession with hexagons is. They're everywhere in here, thought Kaito. They were on the carpets, the walls and now that I notice, even on the sides of the stairs.
"Attention all units! We have managed to subdue all the escaped specimens yet two remain. They are Specimen #12 from the Nuclear Advancements category and Specimen #7 from the Under-Earth Discovery category.
They are one of the strongest specimens on this site of ours.. Their Strength Index far exceeds yours. They must be subdued.
And reminder, a code yellow is ongoing.
That's all for now," announced on speaker all over the building.
The only two specimens not subdued by now are me and Ricky. It's obvious that they were talking about him when they said "Nuclear", but why would they refer to me as "Under-Earth"? I'm pretty sure I read that word in Dad's folder, thought Kaito. And what is a Strength Index?
Out of the blue, twenty guards surrounded them, all armed and dangerous.
Ricky raised both his hands and melted all of their guns.
"Now even you can have fun, Kaido. No need to worry about getting shot!" chuckled Ricky.
He crossed his legs and sat down on the ground.
I really, really want some ice-cream right now, he thought licking his lips.
Considering the fact that their guns had melted, they pulled out their knives.
Three of them lunged at Kaito, while the rest went to capture Ricky.
Kaito was doing pretty good holding off on his own, as he was the best when it came to sword fights.
Kaito was blocking their attacks left and right, but one of them slashed Kaito's arm.
"Hey, Kaido! Why the hell are you playing defensive!? Play offensive instead and kill them all!" advised Ricky still sitting on the ground.
I've never really liked playing offensive before, thought Kaito.
His grip tightened and eyes sharpened.
"Bring it on!" he exclaimed.
The same guard who slashed his arm was now aimed for his head.
Kaito blocked his attack with the pipe and stabbed his shoulder.
Then the other two attacked him at once.
One of them slashed his cheekbone and blood ran down his face.
Kaito snatched the knife and stabbed him in the knee within one seamless motion.
The last one tried to stab Kaito in the neck, but he blocked it.
Then he slashed the guards arm, and left him bleeding.
I didn't use any lethal force, so they'll live, hoped Kaito.
The guards near Ricky were setting up the Radiation Vacuums around him to entrap him.
They looked just like regular vacuum cleaners, but were stronger and had a larger opening.
The storage tank was glowing green, and it hummed loudly while absorbing radiation.
"The same trick doesn't work twice, maggots!" said Ricky emitting a massive amount of radiation from his body, instantly killing everyone around him.
He absorbed the radiation back in his body before it could reach Kaito.
Killing these animals is so fun, he thought.
"Why didn't you kill those three, Kaido? Here, let me do it ya!" he continued, aiming his palm at the three guards who attacked Kaito and burning them.
"I don't... kill," said Kaito under his breath.
"There's one flight of stairs left, and I'm guessing that that's where the power station is," he continued going downstairs.
Ricky followed behind him.
They reached the end, and saw what looked like a huge hall filled with scientific equipment and scientists alike.
Unfortunately, all the scientists had guns, and pointed it at them.
Kaito looked over to Ricky in hopes that he might help.
"What're you looking at me for? I'm too exhausted to use any more radiation..." sighed Ricky.
Suddenly the ceiling burst, and somebody jumped through.
"The Code Yellow intruder has entered the lab, I repeat, the Code Yellow intruder has entered the lab," said a voice on the speakers.
Kaito locked eyes with the intruder, and his heart stopped for a second.
He stood there in disbelief,
as he realized,
that the intruder was his father.
