Chapter 4 - An apoloy

Gia woke up with a frown, new fear crawled its way up her stomach.

"Where am I?"

"How long have I been here?"

She thought frantically.

She was no longer in the dungeon, but her limbs were still chained together.

The room is dim, and she cannot properly make out the objects around her.

As she blinked to get the sleep out of her eyes, the things that happened the day before came flooding back.

"Granny" she sobbed silently, solely blaming herself for her grandmother's death.

'if I had not left the cabin they wouldn't have followed me. We wouldn't have been found'

She thought sadly to herself.

She was still wallowing in self-pity when the door flung opened, and a light switch flicked on, flooding the room with some brightness.

Gia placed a hand over her eyes to shield her eyes from the sudden brightness.

She dropped her hand after she got accustomed to the bright, but her brows drew together when her eyes landed on Alpha Leon.

He stood just a few steps into the room, with his hands folded and a casual grin playing around his lips, and stared at her with indifference.

He still finds it hard to believe that she was his true mate.

But he had made up his mind about what to do.

Mate or not, everyone from that clan has to die.

His father had always warned him about the power that flames held, and he had also experienced it.

He winced slightly as the wound on his chest continued to fester with no signs of healing.

"What do you want to do with her?

"She is supposed to be dead by now" His beta and best friend asked as he stood beside him while they watched Gia on the bed like a freakshow.

"She will heal my wound before she dies, until then she is not allowed to die", Alpha Leon replied, loud enough for Gia to hear.

"You monster!" Gia spat as she struggled to sit up.

Her chained legs prevented that, but her relentless spirit refused to yield.

She had been trying for the past minute to command her powers, but she noticed the seal was back in place.

"Bastard!

"What did you do to me?!" She cussed angrily as she felt her necklace between her chest.

Even though she remembers removing it.

" Heal me now!" Alpha Leon ordered suddenly and got close to Gia and exposed his chest where her palm print still lives.

The angry wound does not show any sign of healing.

"I won't do anything while I'm chained!" Gia fired back. While flickered to the wound.

'If only I had more time' Gia thought with regret.

Alpha Leon went silent. He stared grimly at her.

His black eyes get darker as anger swirls in them.

His lips thinned, his fingernails elongated into claws, and he raised his hand towards her, but Gia did not even bother to flinch.

She was going to show her fear to him and that only made him more furious.

"Alpha!" His beta called him through the mindlink.

'Don't do it'.

He warned in panic.

Alpha Leon held his hand hanging in the air for a few seconds.

He was close to killing her. The stubborn large eyes that stared at him unnerved him and infuriated him greatly, but she still needed to heal him first.

Letting out a low growl, he straightened himself and walked out.

Gia breathed out in relief as they left the room, leaving her in the darkness once more.

Reaching for her necklace, Gia snapped it off and harnessed her power.

She melts off the chains on her wrist and feet to set herself free.

Her eyes glowed in the darkness as she headed out the window.

"You can't force her to heal you". The Seer said calmly as Alpha Leon stood before her, anger seething through him.

Even though he was trying his best to remain calm

"The mating ceremony is in a few days.

"Am I supposed to proceed with this?" he asked, pointing to his chest.

"It's one thing to want to get rid of threats, but it's another problem if it's your true mate.

"Will you kill her?" she asked.

Alpha Leon looked wordlessly at her.

"How long have you known?"

He asked stubbornly.

"Since she set her foot into the pack, and you know you can't kill her.

"Your..wolf will die if you do so" she concluded and turned her back on him as she looked into her glowing globe.

The Seer had been a vital aspect of the pack and Alpha Leon's growth.

After the death of his parents, she had been like one to him since then.

Hence, he finds it hard to refute her words.

"And if I don't kill her?" he asked, but she did not give any response.

'Alpha!

The prisoner has fled!'

Alpha Leon jolted out of his seat as his Beta's words hit him through the mind link.

"Even if I can't kill her, she won't be alive either", Alpha Leon threw at the Seer before rushing out of her cabin.

Gia had jumped out of the window of the room she was kept in.

Looking around before she makes a dash for the woods.

She had gone a few distances away before she was spotted.

And a few warriors went after her.

She continued without sparing a glance back, looking behind means her death.

She cannot let them capture her again.

'I must live'

She continued to mutter under her breath as the air bit into her skin.

Every step she took she could feel them getting closer and in no time one of them shifted to his wolf form and caught up with her.

Jumping onto her back to break her speed, they both went flying across the ground and the rest caught up easily.

"Don't touch her!" a sharp voice warned suddenly, startling them, and they all moved back and made way for him.

Gia's eyes were flashing as she stared at Alpha's Leon infuriated face.

She wished she could shift so that she could make a slash across his face, but that is one of her many shortcomings.

No wolf, no proper werewolf ability, only crappy power and her purple flame that is about to end her life.

"All of you move back, now!" Alpha Leon ordered, and they moved back in shock.

Gia's widened in surprise.

'What is he doing?'

She thought as he suddenly went down on one knee before her.

Gia moved back in panic.

"I won't hurt you, don't run" he said suddenly with his hands raised.

His men exchanged looks and became puzzled as to what was going on.

"I'm sorry so sorry for the way I have treated you since yesterday. "Will you please go back to the pack house with me?" Alpha Leon asked calmly with a smile on his face.

His men gasped and could not believe their ears and eyes.

Their Alpha never apologizes, neither does he cower in fear.

What could be wrong with him? they all pondered, but what they failed to see was the smirk behind the smile.

The devil never changes.
