1 January 2026 – Devil's Side
The morning sky over Devil's Side was still a dull gray, the cold air sharp and quiet after the chaos of the night before. Snowflakes drifted lazily down over rooftops, barely settling before being scattered by the wind.
High above the streets, Bunnyman swinging through the city - silent, fast, watching. His movements were sharp, purposeful. He wasn't patrolling for show.
He was looking for something.
Or someone.
But down below, a very different kind of performance was underway.
In the heart of Devil's Side, a crowd had gathered around a temporary stage set up in front of City Hall. Cameras flashed. News vans rolled. The mayor, sharp in a black coat and red tie, stood confidently before the people and the press.
"These masked lunatics—these so-called vigilantes—are tearing apart our city's reputation," he declared, voice booming through the mic.
The crowd murmured. One voice shouted from somewhere near the front, "They're saving us!"
The mayor's eyes narrowed.
"That's a lie. A convenient one. These vigilantes aren't heroes. They're criminals hiding behind masks. They break laws. They attack people without oversight. They destroy property. So from now—"
He didn't finish.
A sudden gust of wind swept over the stage—followed by a loud whoosh.
THUD!
A figure dropped from the sky like a missile.
It was him.
Eagle.
Before anyone could react, he grabbed the mayor by the collar and launched back into the air, wings slicing through the sky as he vanished above the rooftops—mayor in tow.
The crowd erupted into chaos.
News broke within minutes.
Every screen, every phone, every radio in Devil's Side lit up with the headline:
MAYOR KIDNAPPED – EAGLE STRIKES AGAIN
On a distant rooftop, Bunnyman watched the footage on a large screen mounted to a building wall across the street. People on the sidewalks below pointed up at it, shouting in disbelief.
Bunnyman said nothing.
He stepped onto the ledge.
Then jumped.
