Liebe said, "I see. What does it do? Does it make my magic holy or unholy like Alysa? Or make a pocket dimension like Elizabeth? Or, better yet, does it grant me perfect weapon control like Licht?"
Astreous said, "It does far more."
Liebe said, "I'm sorry?"
Astreous said, "This skill is how you were able to defeat the Supreme Devil, Aravon."
Liebe said, "What is it?"
Astreous said, "Simple. In a battle, the more you want to win, the stronger you will grow. And based on that, your body will make sure you keep on fighting, even if it means all your organs are no more; your darkness will keep it together. Meaning, the more you want to win, the stronger you get, and your body will keep itself together. Even if you are burned to a crisp, you will heal. And if you can maintain that state for long enough, your body will adjust to it."
Liebe said, "What?"
Astreous said, "Basically, if you have the will to grow stronger, your body and magic will make it happen, no matter what."
Liebe said, "But how does it even work?"
Astreous said, "How am I supposed to know? Figure it out. But hold onto it; I have a feeling the future will need you."
Later, Liebe left. Suddenly, a voice from behind said, "Why didn't you tell him the full story?"
Astreous said, "Some things are better kept a secret."
While walking, Liebe was thinking, My skill isn't much suited for a commander unit; it feels more like it's made for an anti-boss unit. But still, it will help. But I don't know how to start. I wish it was something similar to what Mother has, or at least Grandfather had; then at least I will have some guidelines.
The next day at morning, Liebe sat down for breakfast. Liebe said, "Good morning."
Alysa said, "Good morning."
Liebe said, "So, how are things with Eosian?"
Alysa said, "Great."
Liebe said, "Good to know. By the way, I need a favor."
Alysa said, "Sure."
Liebe said, "Can you buy some souvenirs for Elizabeth and our classmates? It will be a bit awkward if we returned from the empire empty-handed."
Alysa said, "I know. And Elizabeth was so depressed she didn't get to come with us and is stuck at HQ in a mountain of paperwork."
Liebe said, "Yeah, looks like we will be busy for a while after we return."
Alysa said, "Yeah, we have a growing pile of work and finals in a month."
Liebe said, "Well, nothing to do. Adulthood really is depressing."
Alysa said, "I know."
Liebe said, "Guess I'm off to Mr. Geno's office since he asked for me."
Alysa said, "By the way, Liebe, if you're free later tonight, want to talk about how the past two days have been? Since we really didn't get much time to talk."
Liebe said, "Ok, sure. But I may not be back till 1 AM; is that ok?"
Alysa said, "Sure, I will be waiting then."
Liebe left for Geno's office.
