Chapter 25 - The National Threat of a Child

Later that night, Gabriel was left barely alive, with only an inch of life remaining. The incident traumatized him for life. A nationwide emergency alert was declared for 24 hours.

Later, while paramedics and security forces were transporting Gabriel to the hospital, they were ambushed. Though Gabriel survived, it was Domr—Domr killed every single witness who had been present for Gabriel. He then forcefully healed Gabriel and said:

"The stunt you pulled today… and touching my daughter—you're incredibly lucky. If it weren't for my grandson, I swear I would've killed you without hesitation. Honestly, I should gouge out your eyes and keep them as a trophy in my office.

But since my daughter begged for your life, I'll restrain myself—for now. But remember this… what happened tonight was just a preview. Next time, I'll kill a member of your family in front of you, then gouge out your eyes before ending your life.

I'll make sure you witness death—millimeter by millimeter."

The following morning, newspapers broke the story. What Liebe did had caused mass panic. There was now fear that someone within the capital possessed power comparable to the Grandmaster—yet no information about this individual was known.

The incident alone was enough to cause over 25 of the strongest knights in the nation to retire, many from trauma. Two even committed suicide. The King was forced to release an official statement, and the Grandmaster offered his opinion on the matter, stating:

"Even though we do not yet know who was responsible or what the cause may have been, we assure all citizens that the situation has been handled, and necessary precautions are being taken to ensure nothing like this happens again."

As for the knights who had retired, officials said they would continue to look into the matter. The truth—that such an immense level of magic power and malice had been released by a 7-year-old—was hidden from public records to protect Liebe and prevent extremist movements from demanding his life.

Later that same morning, each captain and their respective vice-captains were required to give official statements regarding the incident. But aside from Astreous and the members of the House of Faust, no one ever truly understood the severity of what had occurred.
