Matthew's P.O.V
I shut the book I'd been flipping through without reading, just as Elliot appeared from the hallway that led to Theo's room.
He walked toward me, a faint smile on his face. I didn't return it. I wasn't interested in pleasantries, I was waiting for his report.
"I gave him food and a change of clothes," Elliot began, his voice calm. "But he's still furious about what you did."
"Did he eat it?" I asked, cutting past the rest.
Elliot shook his head. "I left the tray and pajamas inside. Maybe he ate it, maybe didn't. We'll have to wait and see."
"Then keep watch until morning," I said, pulling a folded ultrasound photo from my pocket and sliding it across the table. "And find out which hospital and doctor gave him this."
Along with the photo, I'd found a few pills in his pocket. I had no idea what they were for.
